As of 30 August 2026, RoomRaccoon's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Softwr lists it under Travel. RoomRaccoon is available on Web, iOS, Android.

Overview

What RoomRaccoon does

RoomRaccoon was founded in Breda in 2017 and sells a single subscription that covers property management, channel distribution, a commission free booking engine, payment processing and automated guest messaging. The pitch is that a small independent hotel replaces four separate contracts with one, and the modules are pre-integrated rather than connected through third-party interfaces. The real differentiator is regional fit. The product was built for European independents, so it handles local tourist tax rules, European payment methods and regional OTAs and metasearch connections that North American vendors support late or not at all, and it has an established base in South Africa as well. For a 25 room hotel in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain or South Africa, this removes a category of configuration work that a US-first platform makes into a support ticket. The buyer is an owner operator or a small group with no dedicated IT or revenue staff. The trade-off is depth. Revenue tools such as automated dynamic pricing and the upselling module sit on higher tiers or cost extra, reporting is adequate rather than analytical, and the integration catalogue is far shorter than that of the larger cloud platforms. A property that later wants a specific spa, POS or channel tool may find it is not supported.

What people use it for

  • A 20 to 40 room independent hotel replacing separate PMS, channel manager and booking engine contracts
  • A European B and B that needs local tourist tax handling and regional payment methods out of the box
  • A South African guesthouse group wanting one system with local OTA coverage and support hours

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about RoomRaccoon.

  • Revenue and upselling functionality is gated behind higher tiers, so the advertised entry price is rarely what a property that wants automated pricing actually pays.
  • The integration catalogue is short compared with the larger cloud platforms, and a property with an existing spa, POS or CRM preference may find no connector exists.
  • Multi-property management is workable but shallow, so a group beyond a handful of hotels will hit reporting and consolidated inventory limits.
  • Support hours follow European and South African time zones, which leaves properties in the Americas and Asia Pacific waiting overnight for anything beyond first-line help.
  • Because distribution, payments and the PMS come from one vendor, a fault or a price rise in any one of them cannot be answered by switching that component alone.

Answered, with sources

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Does RoomRaccoon charge commission on direct bookings?

No. The booking engine is included in the subscription and direct reservations carry no commission, though card processing fees still apply.

Is it suitable for a hotel with 150 rooms?

It will run, but the product is designed around independents up to roughly 60 rooms and larger properties will find reporting and group handling thin.

Can it be used as a channel manager only?

Not really. The value is in the bundle, and buying it purely for distribution costs more than a dedicated channel manager.

Which regions does it support best?

Europe first, then South Africa. Coverage in North America and Asia is lighter on local OTAs and payment methods.
