Rankings that are not for sale
Plain English, not keywords. You get a short list, what each one really costs, and where it falls short.
The board
Ranked by how many other products name this one as the alternative buyers weigh them against. Counted from pairings a reviewer confirmed, so it is a map of what people cross-shop rather than a verdict on quality.

Where to start
The most cross-shopped product in each of the categories we hold the most of. An entry point rather than a verdict on the category.

From the desk
Written from the same research that maintains the catalogue, with every checkable claim sourced to the page it came from and dated.

A price rise is visible. A plan retirement is not: the number on your invoice stays the same until the day it does not. Clay migrates you the moment you change anything. Z.AI cancelled auto-renew outright. Atlassian has put a date on when Data Center licences stop working entirely. Four vendors, four different mechanisms, quoted from their own notices, plus how to find out whether you are on a plan that no longer exists and what to do about it.
How this works
Every comparison on this site is built the same way. Knowing how lets you judge whether to trust the answer.
Features, pricing tiers, platform support and company details, taken from each product’s own documentation and pricing page. Two tools in the same category are described against the same checklist, so a gap in one is comparable to a gap in the other.
That we hold no record of it, not that the product lacks it. Comparison tables mark unknowns as unknown rather than as an absence, because a missing entry in our catalogue is a fact about us, not about the software.
Ratings shown alongside a product are aggregated from public sources so you can sort and shortlist quickly. Softwr does not host its own reviews, and every rating is labelled as an aggregate rather than presented as ours.
Only pairs a person might genuinely weigh against each other. Two products sharing a category is not enough, they must share what they are for. That rule is why you will not find a page here comparing a music service to a video service.

Questions
Eight things worth knowing before you trust a shortlist.
Software products across 133 categories, and 11,489 head-to-head comparisons built from pairs a reviewer confirmed people actually choose between. Every product page is generated from the same set of fields, so two tools in the same category are always described on the same terms.
