Where each one falls short
Documented limitations, not opinions. Every one is a constraint you would hit in normal use.
Little Hotelier
- The product is capped by design at small properties, so a hotel growing past roughly twenty rooms faces a migration rather than an upgrade, usually into SiteMinder plus a separate PMS.
- Reporting is limited to basic occupancy and revenue summaries, which leaves owners exporting to a spreadsheet for anything an accountant or lender asks for.
- Rate and package logic is simple, so properties with seasonal packages, meal plans or complex tax handling end up adjusting rates manually.
- The non-distribution integration list is short, so accounting, door lock, POS or CRM tools outside the small supported set have to be handled by rekeying data.
- Pricing is banded by room count and paid monthly per property, so an operator with three small properties pays three subscriptions with no consolidated view worth the name.
RoomRaccoon
- Revenue and upselling functionality is gated behind higher tiers, so the advertised entry price is rarely what a property that wants automated pricing actually pays.
- The integration catalogue is short compared with the larger cloud platforms, and a property with an existing spa, POS or CRM preference may find no connector exists.
- Multi-property management is workable but shallow, so a group beyond a handful of hotels will hit reporting and consolidated inventory limits.
- Support hours follow European and South African time zones, which leaves properties in the Americas and Asia Pacific waiting overnight for anything beyond first-line help.
- Because distribution, payments and the PMS come from one vendor, a fault or a price rise in any one of them cannot be answered by switching that component alone.

Answered from the vendors’ own pages
Little Hotelier: Who owns Little Hotelier?
SiteMinder. It is the small property product line of the same company that sells the SiteMinder channel manager.
RoomRaccoon: Does RoomRaccoon charge commission on direct bookings?
No. The booking engine is included in the subscription and direct reservations carry no commission, though card processing fees still apply.
Little Hotelier: What happens when the property outgrows it?
Most operators move to a fuller PMS and keep SiteMinder for distribution. Expect a data migration rather than a plan change.
RoomRaccoon: Is it suitable for a hotel with 150 rooms?
It will run, but the product is designed around independents up to roughly 60 rooms and larger properties will find reporting and group handling thin.
Little Hotelier: Does it include a channel manager?
Yes, built on the SiteMinder network, which is the main reason to choose it over other small property tools.
RoomRaccoon: Can it be used as a channel manager only?
Not really. The value is in the bundle, and buying it purely for distribution costs more than a dedicated channel manager.
Little Hotelier: Can one login manage several properties?
Each property is a separate subscription and the multi-property view is thin, so operators of more than two or three properties usually look elsewhere.
RoomRaccoon: Which regions does it support best?
Europe first, then South Africa. Coverage in North America and Asia is lighter on local OTAs and payment methods.
