Overview

What Clock PMS+ does

Clock PMS+ is a cloud property management platform for hotels, apartment hotels and hostels, developed by Clock Software. Unusually for the category it includes the booking engine, channel connectivity, point of sale, guest self service and online check-in, event and banqueting handling and payment processing in a single subscription rather than selling them as modules. The distinguishing commercial decision is the pricing basis. Rather than charging per room, Clock sets a tier from a combination of annual net revenue and room count, published on a scale running up to around thirty million euros of revenue. A forty room hotel turning over 1.9 million euros sits at roughly 517 euros a month. This is close to value-based pricing, and it means a high-ADR boutique pays substantially more than a budget property with the same key count. For an operator with strong revenue per room it is a worse deal than per room pricing; for a low-ADR property it is a better one. Buyers are independent European hotels and small groups that want one vendor rather than an assembled stack. The trade-offs are the onboarding fee of roughly 1,650 to 3,900 euros, an annual commitment with tier reassessment at year end, and add-ons that sit outside the all-inclusive claim: OTA connections through RoomCloud at 10 euros per channel per month, extra rate mappings at 50 euros a month and private analytics at 50 euros a month.

What people use it for

  • An independent hotel with a restaurant that wants POS posting to the folio without buying and integrating a second system
  • A conference-heavy property needing banqueting and function space billing inside the PMS
  • A budget or low-ADR property that pays less under revenue-based tiering than it would under per room pricing
  • A hotel replacing an on-premise legacy system that wants online check-in included rather than as a paid add-on

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Clock PMS+.

  • Pricing on annual net revenue means a high-ADR boutique pays materially more than a budget property with the same room count, which is a bad deal for exactly the operators with the strongest performance.
  • The onboarding fee of 1,650 to 3,900 euros is a real first-year cost that the monthly figure hides, and it applies before the system is producing any value.
  • The all-inclusive claim has exceptions: OTA channel connections, extra rate mappings and private analytics are all charged separately on top.
  • Contracts are annual with tier reassessment at year end, so a good trading year raises next year subscription automatically unless renegotiated.
  • Market presence is concentrated in Europe and the vendor is small relative to Oracle or Mews, which means a thinner integration ecosystem and more dependence on the vendor for anything bespoke.
