Fathom: If you want a widely used meeting notetaker with a strong free tier and do not need free viewer seats

Meeting recorder and AI notetaker that writes back to the CRM and gives free seats to people who only need to watch
As of 1 September 2026, Claap has a free plan and paid plans start at €8/month. Claap records sales calls, extracts notes and fills in CRM fields automatically, and its licensing separates paid contributors from free viewers and guests. Softwr lists it under Sales Enablement. Claap is available on Web, macOS, Windows, Browser extension.
Overview
Claap is a French meeting recording and revenue intelligence tool built for sales teams. It records calls, produces AI notes and summaries, and writes structured output back into CRM fields rather than leaving a transcript for someone to copy across. On top of that it supports asynchronous video for internal updates, deal collaboration spaces, sales coaching workflows with scorecards, and an agent gallery for automating post-call actions. The distinguishing commercial choice is the licence model. Most meeting AI tools charge per seat for everyone who touches the product, which punishes organisations where sales leaders, marketing and product people only ever watch recordings and read summaries. Claap sells paid contributor licences and gives contributors, guests and viewers free access, so the paid population is the people actually recording calls. Published rates start around eight euros per licence a month on the yearly Starter plan and around twenty four euros for Pro, with Business and Enterprise quoted. For a twenty person revenue organisation where eight people run calls, that is a materially different bill from a flat per-seat competitor. Buyers are small and mid sized sales teams, particularly in Europe, choosing between Claap and the American incumbents. The trade offs are ecosystem and scale. The conversation intelligence depth, the coaching analytics and the integration catalogue are thinner than at the large United States revenue intelligence platforms, and enterprise procurement teams will find fewer security and compliance references. Language coverage and European data handling are the reasons European buyers pick it over the alternatives.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Claap.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Because viewers and guests are free. You pay only for contributors who record, which suits teams where most people just consume recordings.
Starter at around eight euros per licence a month and Pro at around twenty four euros, both billed yearly, plus a free Basic tier and quoted Business and Enterprise plans.
Yes, CRM auto-complete populates deal fields from the call, but it is a Pro tier feature rather than being available on Starter.
It fits small and mid sized revenue teams best. Large regulated buyers will find fewer compliance references than at the established United States vendors.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Claap, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish.
