Krayin

Open source Laravel CRM for sales teams that want to own the code

As of 31 August 2026, Krayin is free to use. A free, self-hosted CRM built on Laravel by Webkul, the Indian firm behind Bagisto. Softwr lists it under CRM. Krayin is made by Webkul Software, available on Web, Self-hosted, Docker, Linux.

Overview

What Krayin does

Krayin is an MIT-licensed CRM written in Laravel and Vue, covering leads and pipelines, contacts and organisations, quotes, products, activities, email, workflow automation and role-based permissions. It ships as a standard Laravel application, so anyone comfortable with Composer, PHP and MySQL can install it, and any PHP developer can extend it through its package structure rather than through a plug-in SDK. The distinguishing point is what open source means here. Krayin is not open core: the whole CRM is in the free repository and there is no feature-gated enterprise edition holding back reporting or automation, which is the usual pattern. It is maintained by Webkul Software, a Noida-based company whose commercial model is extensions, hosting, white labelling and paid implementation services, the same model it runs for its Bagisto ecommerce platform. That means the software really is free and the money is made around it, but it also means one company decides the roadmap, and its incentive is to keep enough demand for its services rather than to build every feature into the core. Buyers are development-capable small businesses, agencies building CRMs for clients, and organisations with data residency requirements that make a hosted CRM impossible. The trade-off is maturity. Krayin is much younger and much less deeply featured than EspoCRM or Vtiger, its ecosystem is small, and a large part of practical functionality sits in paid extensions from the same vendor.

What people use it for

  • A PHP or Laravel development shop wants a CRM it can fork and rebrand for clients without paying per seat or negotiating an OEM licence.
  • An organisation under data residency rules needs the customer database physically on its own infrastructure, which rules out every hosted CRM.
  • A small sales team wants an unlimited-user CRM where adding a tenth or fiftieth user costs nothing beyond server capacity.
  • A Bagisto ecommerce store wants a CRM from the same vendor that shares its technology stack and conventions rather than a bridged integration.

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Krayin.

  • It is far less mature than EspoCRM, SuiteCRM or Vtiger, with thinner reporting, weaker forecasting and fewer built-in integrations, so evaluations that start from a feature checklist will not favour it.
  • Practical functionality such as certain telephony, messaging and marketing connectors sits in paid marketplace extensions from Webkul, so the free CRM plus the extensions you actually need is not free.
  • The roadmap is controlled by a single services company whose revenue depends on selling implementation and extensions, so there is a structural incentive against making the core complete.
  • You are responsible for the whole operational burden: PHP and MySQL hosting, backups, security patching, mail deliverability and upgrades, and a botched upgrade of a customised install is your problem alone.
  • The cloud hosting page does not publish prices, so the managed option that would remove that burden cannot be budgeted without contacting sales, which undercuts the transparency the open licence otherwise offers.

Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Answered, with sources

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Is Krayin really free?

The CRM itself is MIT licensed with no user limit and no enterprise edition. Premium extensions, managed hosting and custom development from Webkul are paid.

Who maintains it?

Webkul Software of Noida, India, the same company behind the Bagisto open source ecommerce platform.

What do I need to run it?

A standard LAMP or LEMP stack with PHP, Composer and MySQL or MariaDB. Any host that runs Laravel will run Krayin.

How does it compare to EspoCRM?

EspoCRM is more mature with deeper reporting and a longer track record. Krayin is easier for a Laravel developer to extend and has a more permissive licence.
