IFS Cloud: If you are a large enterprise already on IFS ERP and want EAM inside the same platform

Dutch enterprise asset management with role-based user tiers, now sold inside the IFS portfolio
As of 1 September 2026, IFS Ultimo EAM's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Ultimo was a Netherlands EAM vendor bought by IFS in 2022 and is now IFS Ultimo EAM, deliberately kept separate from IFS Cloud EAM. Softwr lists it under Field Service. IFS Ultimo EAM is made by IFS, available on Web, iOS, Android.
Overview
IFS Ultimo EAM manages maintenance, safety and compliance for asset-intensive organisations. It covers work orders, planned maintenance schedules, spare parts and stores, contractor management, permits to work and lockout-tagout, plus fleet and facilities variants. It is delivered as industry solutions, preconfigured templates for manufacturing, healthcare, infrastructure, public transport and utilities, so implementations start from a working configuration rather than an empty database. The licensing model is the practical differentiator. Ultimo distinguishes Full users, Light users and Self-Service users. Self-Service accounts can raise requests and view information; Light covers people who touch the system occasionally; Full is for planners and maintenance managers. The price per user does not change with how many industry solutions you enable. For a hospital or a factory where hundreds of staff need to report a fault but a dozen people actually plan work, this is the difference between a viable per-seat cost and an unaffordable one, and it is the first question to ask any EAM vendor quoting a flat per-user rate. Buyers are mid-sized European asset-intensive organisations, strongest in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom. The trade-off is portfolio position. IFS now sells two EAM products, Ultimo and IFS Cloud EAM, and positions Ultimo at the mid-market and IFS Cloud at large enterprises running IFS ERP. That is a stable arrangement today, but buyers signing five-year terms are betting on a vendor continuing to fund two overlapping products, and Ultimo customers wanting deep ERP-grade functionality are on the smaller of the two roadmaps.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about IFS Ultimo EAM.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Answered, with sources
Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.
Yes. IFS positions Ultimo at the mid-market and IFS Cloud EAM at large enterprises, and sells both.
Three tiers: Self-Service for request and view, Light for occasional use, Full for planners and managers. Rates differ per tier.
No. The per-user price stays the same regardless of how many industry solutions you select.
Cloud subscription is the route IFS sells. On-premise exists in the installed base but is not the direction of travel.
