Service management for HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractors with deep QuickBooks Desktop sync
As of 31 August 2026, FieldEdge's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A long-established US home services platform, now owned by Xplor Technologies rather than by an independent vendor. Softwr lists it under Field Service. FieldEdge is made by FieldEdge, part of Xplor Technologies, available on Web, iOS, Android, Windows.
Overview
FieldEdge is field service management software for residential and light commercial contractors in HVAC, plumbing, electrical and adjacent trades. It covers dispatch, work orders, technician mobile, flat-rate pricebooks, service agreements, inventory, invoicing and customer history. The product began as dESCO, one of the oldest names in US service management, was rebranded FieldEdge, and now sits inside Xplor Technologies, a payments and commerce group formed from the merger of Clearent and Transaction Services Group. The distinguishing capability is the QuickBooks integration. FieldEdge maintains a live two-way sync with QuickBooks Desktop, not just Online, and for a contractor whose accountant has ten years of history in a Desktop company file that is often decisive. Most modern competitors sync only to QuickBooks Online, which forces a migration the business does not want. The commercial consequence of the Xplor ownership is the other half of the story: the group makes money on payment processing through Xplor Pay, so the sales motion pushes you towards their merchant services, and the effective cost of the platform depends on the processing rate you negotiate as much as on the subscription. Buyers are established US contractors with somewhere between five and a hundred staff, typically ones that have outgrown a paper board but do not want a ServiceTitan-scale implementation. The trade-offs are pricing opacity, contract length and the interface. FieldEdge publishes no rate card at all, charges an implementation fee, and its office application shows its age against newer competitors.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about FieldEdge.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

ServiceTitan: If you are large enough to justify the implementation and want dispatch optimisation, marketing attribution and reporting depth FieldEdge does not match.

Housecall Pro: If you are a smaller residential shop that wants published pricing, fast self-service onboarding and consumer booking.

Jobber: If you want a lighter, cheaper system with transparent plan pricing and can live with QuickBooks Online only.

Xplor Technologies, a payments and commerce group formed from Clearent and Transaction Services Group. FieldEdge sits in its Field Services division and keeps its own name and product.
Yes, with a live two-way sync. This is the main reason contractors pick it over competitors that support only QuickBooks Online.
It is quote-only. Contractors commonly report around 100 US dollars per office user and 125 per technician per month, plus a setup fee and per-module add-ons.
It is built for the US and Canadian home services market. Tax, payments and pricebook content assume North America.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for FieldEdge, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
