Where each one falls short
Documented limitations, not opinions. Every one is a constraint you would hit in normal use.
RoomPriceGenie
- The flat per-property fee is a hard floor with no smaller tier, so a twelve-room property pays roughly seventeen euros per room per month, often more than its property management system costs.
- The model is deliberately simple and does not handle segmentation, group displacement or total revenue optimisation, so hotels with substantial conference or wholesale business will find it pricing only the transient shoulder.
- Automation quality depends entirely on clean data from the PMS, and properties with inconsistent rate plans or room-type setups get poor recommendations until that is fixed, which is a project the vendor does not do for you.
- Competitor rate shopping is weaker in dispersed rural markets where there is no meaningful comparable set to shop against.
- Multi-property reporting sits only on the most expensive tier, so a two-property owner must pay 440 euros per property to see them together rather than logging into each separately.
TrustYou
- Pricing is not published at any tier, so a single hotel cannot compare it against cheaper reputation tools without entering a sales process.
- Review syncing is not instant, and delays between a review appearing publicly and appearing in the dashboard undermine the case for using it as an operational alert system.
- Reporting is inflexible next to a general analytics tool, and groups that want a custom cut of the data often export it rather than build the view inside TrustYou.
- The newer customer data platform modules overlap heavily with functionality in modern property management systems and hotel CRMs, so buyers risk paying twice for guest profile unification.
- Much of the underlying review data is now retrievable free through Google Business Profile and OTA extranets, which makes the value proposition rest entirely on analysis and workflow rather than access.

Answered from the vendors’ own pages
RoomPriceGenie: How much does RoomPriceGenie cost?
Roughly 198 euros per property per month at the entry tier, 297 for Premium and 440 for the multi-property Professional tier, with about seventeen per cent off for annual payment.
TrustYou: How much does TrustYou cost?
It is quoted. Historical directory listings mention entry figures around 75 US dollars a month for a small property, but the vendor does not publish a rate card and group pricing is negotiated.
RoomPriceGenie: Is it worth it for a fifteen-room hotel?
That is the awkward size. The fee works out around thirteen euros per room per month, so the revenue uplift has to be real rather than assumed before it pays.
TrustYou: Does it respond to reviews for me?
It drafts responses and publishes them back to source channels, but a human still approves them unless you configure otherwise.
RoomPriceGenie: Does it replace a revenue manager?
For a small independent with no analyst, largely yes. For a hotel with group and conference business it does not, because it does not model displacement.
TrustYou: Is the score syndication worth it?
It is one of the more defensible parts of the product, because showing verified review content on a direct booking page counters the social proof advantage OTAs hold.
RoomPriceGenie: Can I keep manual control?
Yes. It can run in recommendation mode where prices are suggested and you approve them, rather than writing automatically to the PMS.
TrustYou: Do I need it if I use Google Business Profile?
Google gives you your own reviews free. TrustYou adds cross-source aggregation, competitor benchmarking and category-level sentiment, which is the part you are paying for.
