Sabre Red 360: If your agency holds a Sabre GDS relationship instead of Travelport

Travelport GDS booking desktop for travel agents, now on version 12
As of 1 September 2026, Travelport Smartpoint's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. The agent-facing booking application over the Travelport GDS (Apollo, Galileo and Worldspan content), sold to travel agencies rather than to the companies whose staff travel. Softwr lists it under Travel. Travelport Smartpoint is made by Travelport, available on Windows, Web.
Overview
Travelport Smartpoint is the desktop and cloud-hosted workspace agents use to search, price, book and ticket air, hotel, car and rail content held in the Travelport GDS. It layers graphical shopping screens over the same host system that also accepts native cryptic command entry, so agencies can run mixed teams of forms-based and command-line staff on one product. The distinguishing fact for a buyer is the upgrade cadence. Travelport retired Smartpoint versions 8.1 through 9.1 in April 2026 and pushed agencies onto 12.0, distributed through the Travelport Marketplace on a country-by-country basis. Agencies that skipped updates found themselves locked out of Travelport+ and Apollo sign-on until they upgraded, which is an operational risk most vendor pages will not mention. As with Sabre, the software itself is rarely a separate line item: agencies typically hold a segment agreement with Travelport, and incentive economics sit behind the desktop. Buyers are retail agencies, TMCs and consolidators already contracted to the Travelport GDS, generally because of legacy relationships or specific content deals. Moving to Sabre Red 360 or Amadeus Selling Platform means retraining staff on a different command syntax and renegotiating a separate incentive deal, so the practical choice is usually inherited rather than shopped.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Travelport Smartpoint.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.
