NICE CXone: If you want workforce optimisation and the contact centre platform from a single vendor with a settled roadmap

Enterprise customer engagement and workforce optimisation, taken private by Thoma Bravo and merged with Calabrio
As of 31 August 2026, Verint's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Verint sells workforce optimisation, speech analytics and CX automation to very large contact centres. Softwr lists it under Customer Support. Verint is made by Verint Systems Inc., available on Web, Windows.
Overview
Verint is one of the long-standing enterprise vendors in contact centre workforce optimisation. Its catalogue covers workforce management and forecasting, quality and compliance recording, interaction and speech analytics, voice of the customer surveys, knowledge management, and a growing line of what it markets as CX automation bots that handle discrete tasks such as call summarisation, coaching and quality scoring. It is deliberately platform-agnostic, sold to organisations running Avaya, Cisco, Genesys or Amazon Connect underneath. The fact that should change a shortlist is corporate, not technical. Thoma Bravo completed a 2 billion US dollar take-private of Verint in November 2025 and stated its intention to combine the company with Calabrio, another Thoma Bravo portfolio company selling directly competing workforce optimisation software. Two overlapping product lines under one owner means consolidation, and consolidation means one of the two roadmaps gets subordinated. Buyers signing a multi-year Verint contract in 2026 are signing before that question is publicly settled, and should press hard on contractual continuity and migration terms rather than accepting roadmap reassurance. Verint buyers are large regulated enterprises, thousands of agents, often with recording obligations in financial services or government. Nothing is published on price; deals are seven-figure multi-year agreements with professional services attached. The trade-off has always been depth against weight: Verint will do things smaller tools cannot, and it will take a year and an implementation partner to get there.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Verint.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Genesys Cloud: If you are replacing telephony anyway and would rather buy the whole estate as one cloud contract
