The short version

  • Each has a real cost: Ameyo no pricing is published anywhere for any deployment model, so budgeting requires a sales cycle and there is no way to sanity-check a quote against a public rate card.; Verint thoma Bravo took Verint private in November 2025 and is combining it with the directly competing Calabrio, so buyers signing multi-year agreements now cannot know which of the two overlapping product lines survives as the strategic one.
  • They diverge on capability: Ameyo covers Predictive and progressive dialling, Verint covers Workforce management.
  • Prices and features above were last checked on 31 August 2026.

  • An organisation wants voice, WhatsApp and email handled on a single agent desktop in a market where WhatsApp is the dominant customer channel.not Verint

Verint

  • A retail bank with 4,000 agents that must record and retain every advised sale under regulatory obligation and evidence retention on demandnot Ameyo
  • A government service centre running an inherited Avaya estate that needs modern analytics without replacing the telephonynot Ameyo
  • A multinational insurer forecasting across six sites and three languages where a spreadsheet-based rota has stopped scalingnot Ameyo
  • An enterprise wanting analytics over one hundred per cent of interactions because sampled quality scoring keeps missing the failure modes that generate complaintsnot Ameyo

Where each one falls short

Documented limitations, not opinions. Every one is a constraint you would hit in normal use.

Ameyo

  • No pricing is published anywhere for any deployment model, so budgeting requires a sales cycle and there is no way to sanity-check a quote against a public rate card.
  • On-premise deployment means you also buy servers, telephony connectivity, professional services and ongoing administration, and the licence is often the smaller half of the true cost.
  • The Exotel acquisition has moved investment towards the newer XTRM cloud line, which creates a real question about how long the classic on-premise product will receive substantial development.
  • It is engineered around large agent counts in low-cost labour markets, so a twenty-seat Western operation gets an interface and an implementation process designed for a very different scale.
  • Self-service is limited: unlike Talkdesk or Five9 there is no meaningful way to trial, configure and launch without vendor involvement, so time to first call is measured in weeks rather than days.

Verint

  • Thoma Bravo took Verint private in November 2025 and is combining it with the directly competing Calabrio, so buyers signing multi-year agreements now cannot know which of the two overlapping product lines survives as the strategic one.
  • The catalogue is licensed piece by piece, including individually priced automation bots, so the quoted platform figure is rarely the figure you end up paying once the analytics, recording and bot modules are all in scope.
  • Implementations routinely run six to twelve months and effectively require a partner, which means the first year of a contract is spent paying for software that is not yet delivering.
  • The interface reflects two decades of accumulated enterprise features, and new supervisors need formal training to do things that a mid-market tool exposes in one screen.
  • It is priced and scoped for thousands of agents, so a 300-seat operation gets an enterprise contract, an enterprise implementation and enterprise complexity for a problem a lighter product would solve in weeks.

Answered from the vendors’ own pages

Ameyo: Is Ameyo still a separate product after the Exotel acquisition?

Yes. It is branded Ameyo by Exotel and keeps its own website, product line and roadmap. It has not been folded into the Exotel product.

Verint: Who owns Verint now?

Thoma Bravo, which completed a 2 billion US dollar take-private in November 2025 and is combining Verint with its existing portfolio company Calabrio.

Ameyo: Can I still deploy Ameyo on-premise?

Yes, and it is one of the few remaining contact centre platforms offering a genuine on-premise install alongside cloud and hybrid.

Verint: Does that affect an existing contract?

Existing contracts continue, but roadmap and product overlap with Calabrio is unresolved. Ask for written commitments on support horizon and migration terms before renewing.

Ameyo: What does Ameyo cost?

It is quote-only. Nothing is published for cloud or on-premise, and on-premise adds infrastructure and professional services on top of licensing.

Verint: Do I have to replace my telephony?

No. Verint is deliberately platform-agnostic and is commonly deployed over Avaya, Cisco, Genesys and Amazon Connect estates.

Ameyo: Where is it sold?

Primarily India and Southeast Asia, with customers in the Middle East and Africa. It is not a mainstream choice in Europe or North America.

Verint: Is pricing published?

No. Verint sells multi-year enterprise agreements quoted per module and per agent, with professional services costed separately.
