Klaviyo

Klaviyo: If you need predictive analytics, revenue attribution depth and the largest ecommerce integration ecosystem, and can absorb the higher cost.

Ecommerce email marketing and automation priced purely on contact count
As of 31 August 2026, Drip starts at $39/month. An ecommerce email platform owned by Leadpages, sitting between Mailchimp and Klaviyo on price and depth. Softwr lists it under E-Commerce. Drip is made by Drip, a Leadpages company, available on Web, API.
Overview
Drip is an email marketing and automation platform built for online retailers. It syncs orders, products and customer behaviour from Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and Magento, then drives segmentation and visual workflows from that data: abandoned cart and browse abandonment, post-purchase sequences, winback, replenishment and product recommendations, plus onsite forms and popups. It was founded as a standalone tool, acquired by Leadpages in 2016, and repositioned from general marketing automation to ecommerce specifically. The pricing model is the distinguishing fact and the reason to consider it. Drip charges only on contact count and gates nothing: 39 US dollars a month for 2,500 contacts, 89 for 5,000, 154 for 10,000, with unlimited email sends, all workflows, all segmentation and full API access on every plan. That removes the standard frustration of Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign, where automation depth, send volume and API access are all separately tiered and the plan you need is never the plan the price you saw belongs to. Against Klaviyo, Drip is meaningfully cheaper at small and mid list sizes while offering a similar ecommerce data model, and noticeably weaker on analytics, predictive segmentation and the size of its app ecosystem. Buyers are small and mid-sized online retailers, typically on Shopify, doing enough revenue to justify behavioural automation but not enough to absorb Klaviyo at scale. The trade-off buyers most often miss is that Drip SMS is closed to new users and was US-only in any case, so the multichannel story is not available.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Drip.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Klaviyo: If you need predictive analytics, revenue attribution depth and the largest ecommerce integration ecosystem, and can absorb the higher cost.

Omnisend: If you want email and SMS together for an ecommerce store, since Drip no longer offers SMS to new accounts.

ActiveCampaign: If your business is not primarily ecommerce and you need CRM and sales automation alongside email.

Not for new customers. Drip SMS is closed to new accounts and was only ever available in the United States, so treat Drip as an email and onsite platform.
Entirely by contact count, from 39 US dollars a month for 2,500 contacts. Email sends are unlimited and no features are held back on lower tiers.
Leadpages, which acquired it in 2016. Drip retains its own name, site and product.
Cheaper at small and mid list sizes with a similar ecommerce data model, but weaker on analytics, predictive segmentation and the breadth of its app ecosystem.
