BackToMe

Right-of-withdrawal handling for European e-commerce

As of 15 September 2026, BackToMe starts at €25/month. Adds a compliant EU right-of-withdrawal flow to any online shop, with timestamped receipts and SHA-256 sealed archives held for five years. Softwr lists it under E-Commerce. BackToMe is available on Web.

Overview

What BackToMe does

BackToMe is a single-purpose compliance tool for European online retailers: it runs the customer's statutory right of withdrawal from the moment they ask to the moment the file is closed, and leaves behind proof that stands up in a dispute. EU Directive 2023/2673 gives consumers a withdrawal right on distance sales, and most shops satisfy it with a contact form and hope, which is exactly the arrangement that collapses when a customer claims they cancelled and the merchant cannot show what arrived or when. Installation is a single script line, and the vendor puts it at five minutes on any platform. It drops a floating withdrawal button on the storefront, customisable in position, colour, label and placement, and available in 24 EU languages. A customer who uses it gets an immediate timestamped acknowledgement. The merchant gets a dashboard tracking each request from submission to closure, one-click export of a compliance-ready proof document, and a sealed archive: each dossier fingerprinted with SHA-256 so tampering is detectable, retained for five years. Pricing is deliberately flat. It is 25 euros excluding VAT per month per active store, or 250 euros a year, and the price does not move with request volume. Staging and development environments are not billed, only activated stores, and there is a seven-day free trial plus a 30-day money-back guarantee. One account can carry several shops.

What people use it for

  • Meeting EU Directive 2023/2673 withdrawal obligations
  • Producing dated proof of a cancellation in a customer dispute
  • Handling withdrawal requests across several EU languages
  • Running one withdrawal process across multiple storefronts
  • Passing a consumer-protection audit with exportable records

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about BackToMe.

  • The scope is European consumer law. A merchant selling outside the EU has no use for it.
  • The site and dashboard are French. The customer-facing button covers 24 EU languages, but the merchant side is not multilingual.
  • One price, one feature set. There is no tier for a shop that wants only the archive or only the button.
  • It runs as an injected script on the storefront, so a shop with a strict content security policy has an extra step before the button will render.
  • A young French vendor with no independent review coverage, so there is nothing outside the vendor's own material to corroborate the archive's evidentiary weight.

Loop Returns: Handles the returns workflow for online retailers with far more depth on exchanges and logistics, but is built around US retail practice rather than the EU statutory withdrawal right and its evidence requirements.
