Temu: If price is the priority over brand assurance and shipping speed

Amazon's consumer marketplace app for browsing, buying and tracking orders
As of 1 September 2026, Amazon Shopping is free to use. The mobile front end to Amazon's retail marketplace, free to use without an account requirement for browsing, but structured to funnel buyers toward an Amazon Prime subscription for the fast free shipping most listings assume. Softwr lists it under E-Commerce. Amazon Shopping is made by Amazon.com, Inc., available on iOS, Android, Web.
Overview
Amazon Shopping is the app for Amazon's retail marketplace, covering product search, ordering, order tracking, returns and, in supported markets, same-day or next-day delivery. It also surfaces Amazon's other consumer products from the same account, including Prime Video, Amazon Music and Alexa device management, and it carries advertising in the form of sponsored product placements throughout search results. The commercial detail that matters is Prime. Ordering without a Prime subscription still works, but delivery speed, free shipping thresholds and access to Prime Video, Prime Music and other bundled perks all sit behind the subscription, and Amazon's search and delivery-estimate design consistently nudges non-Prime shoppers toward signing up. Underneath the marketplace, a large proportion of listings are fulfilled and sold by third-party sellers rather than Amazon directly, some of them through Fulfilled by Amazon warehousing and some shipped by the seller themselves, and buyer protections, return windows and product authenticity differ between first-party and third-party listings in ways the app does not always make obvious at the point of purchase. Buyers are general consumers, and the trade-off is convenience against provenance: the catalogue is vast and fulfilment is generally reliable, but counterfeit and mislabelled goods from third-party sellers have been a persistent, documented problem, and distinguishing an Amazon-sold item from a marketplace reseller requires reading the listing rather than trusting the platform by default.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Amazon Shopping.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Answered, with sources
Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.
No, browsing and ordering work without Prime, but fast free shipping, Prime Video and Prime Music all require the paid subscription.
No, a large proportion of listings are sold and sometimes shipped by third-party marketplace sellers, which affects returns and counterfeit risk.
Check the "Sold by" and "Fulfilled by" fields on the product page, which the app does not surface prominently in search results.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Amazon Shopping, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
