As of 31 August 2026, Slice's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A commerce platform sold exclusively to independent pizza shops, charging a flat fee per order instead of a percentage of the ticket. Softwr lists it under Restaurants. Slice is available on Web, iOS, Android.

Overview

What Slice does

Slice sells online ordering, a consumer marketplace app, a pizzeria specific point of sale called Slice Register, marketing services and a group purchasing arm for food and packaging. It works with roughly 20,000 independent pizzerias in the United States and does not sell to other cuisines. Orders placed through the marketplace or through a shop branded site both run on the same order pipeline into the kitchen. The commercial distinction is the fee structure. Where delivery marketplaces take a percentage of every ticket, Slice charges a flat amount per order regardless of basket size, which inverts the economics for shops selling large family orders and makes it worse for shops selling single slices. The second distinction is Slice Ingredients, a buying group that resells boxes, cheese and dough supplies at negotiated prices; for many shops the packaging savings exceed the ordering fees, which is what keeps them subscribed even when order volume through Slice is modest. Buyers are owner operators running one to five pizzerias, usually with no marketing staff and an existing POS they are reluctant to change. The trade off is the customer relationship. A shop that acquires diners through the Slice app is renting demand from a platform that also lists competitors within a mile, and the flat fee is charged on repeat orders from customers the shop itself introduced.

What people use it for

  • An independent pizzeria that wants online ordering without paying a percentage commission on every large family order
  • A shop whose packaging and cheese costs are high enough that group purchasing pays for the platform on its own
  • A two location pizzeria replacing an ageing legacy terminal with a POS that understands half and half toppings
  • An owner with no marketing staff who needs a customer list and repeat order campaigns run for them

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Slice.

  • The platform sells only to pizzerias, so a group that adds a second concept has to run a separate ordering stack for it.
  • The consumer marketplace lists nearby competitors alongside you, and the flat order fee is charged even on repeat customers you introduced yourself, so you pay indefinitely for demand you already own.
  • Slice Register is a much younger product than general purpose restaurant POS software and its reporting, inventory and multi location features are thinner than what an established POS offers.
  • Delivery fulfilled through third party fleets is billed per delivery on top of the order fee, so the true cost per delivered order is well above the headline flat fee.
  • Group purchasing savings depend on switching or supplementing your existing distributor and meeting order minimums, which small shops with limited storage often cannot do.

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Does Slice take a commission on orders?

No. It charges a flat amount per order, so the fee does not rise with ticket size. Delivery, if you use the Slice driver network, is billed separately per delivery.

Do I have to use Slice Register to get online ordering?

No. Ordering works alongside most common POS systems, and many shops take Slice orders on a tablet without any POS integration at all.

Will customers know they are ordering from my pizzeria or from Slice?

Both happen. Orders placed on your branded site look like yours; orders placed in the Slice app come from a marketplace where your listing sits beside other pizzerias.

Is it available outside the United States?

No. Slice operates in the United States only.
