Overview

What Repsly does

Repsly is a retail execution platform for consumer packaged goods brands and the merchandising agencies that work for them. Field reps use a mobile app to run store visits: photograph shelves, complete audits, record out-of-stocks and pricing, capture orders and log time and mileage. Head office gets territory coverage, planogram compliance and sales lift reporting tied back to the visits that produced it. Image recognition on shelf photos is used to count facings and detect gaps without a rep filling in a long form. What separates Repsly from generic field service software is that its data model is store-centric rather than job-centric. A place, a planogram and a repeat visit cycle sit at the middle, not a work order, which is why CPG teams find it fits and why field service teams find it does not. It was founded in Zagreb in 2008, is headquartered in Boston with engineering still in Croatia, and was acquired by Cuadrilla Capital in January 2025. Cuadrilla is a software buyout firm, so buyers should read the roadmap with the usual expectations that follow private equity ownership of a mature product. Buyers are CPG brands running their own merchandising teams, third-party merchandising agencies, and beverage and snack distributors. The commercial trade-off is stated on the vendor pricing page and is unusually rigid: no free trial, a twelve-month minimum commitment, and annual payment upfront by card, ACH or wire. That is a real barrier for a brand wanting to test with one region before committing.

What people use it for

  • A snack brand with forty merchandisers that needs photographic evidence of promotional display compliance before paying a retailer trade spend claim
  • A merchandising agency running field teams for several competing clients that must keep each clients data separated in one workspace
  • A beverage distributor whose reps take orders in store and need customer-specific pricing available offline in the aisle
  • A brand entering a new grocery chain that wants to measure whether visit frequency in a region actually raised sell-through

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Repsly.

  • Every contract requires a twelve-month minimum commitment paid annually upfront, and Repsly states plainly that it offers no free trial, so a brand cannot pilot one territory cheaply before committing a years budget.
  • Pricing is not published at any tier, so there is no way to compare the cost of Core against Scale, or against a competitor, without going through sales on both sides.
  • The data model assumes repeat visits to fixed retail locations, so companies whose field work is job-based or appointment-based will fight the product rather than configure it.
  • Image recognition accuracy depends on photo quality and on the product catalogue being trained for your SKUs, which means real onboarding effort and degraded results on cluttered or poorly lit shelves.
  • Cuadrilla Capital acquired Repsly in January 2025, and a private equity buyout of a mature product usually shifts investment towards retention and pricing rather than towards new capability, which is a risk if you are buying on roadmap promises.
