Keycloak

Keycloak: The larger, more established open-source identity provider, heavier to run
Overview
authentik is an open-source identity provider supporting SSO, OAuth2, SAML, LDAP and multi-factor authentication. Its distinguishing idea is flows: authentication, enrolment and recovery are each modelled as a sequence of configurable stages, so unusual requirements are assembled rather than coded around. It is commonly chosen by teams who found Keycloak heavier than their problem needed, particularly in homelab and small-to-mid infrastructure where a friendlier interface matters.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about authentik.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for authentik, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
