Transmit Security

Customer identity platform built around passwordless and fraud signals

As of 1 September 2026, Transmit Security's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A customer identity and access management platform that combines authentication, identity verification, fraud detection and orchestration in one set of services. Softwr lists it under Cybersecurity. Transmit Security is available on Web, iOS, Android.

Overview

What Transmit Security does

Transmit Security provides customer authentication including passkeys and passwordless flows, identity verification, detection and response for account takeover and new account fraud, and an orchestration layer for chaining those services into journeys. The products are sold as composable services with APIs, so an organisation can adopt only detection or only authentication rather than replacing its whole identity stack. The distinguishing position is the merge of CIAM and fraud. Most enterprises buy an identity provider and a separate fraud vendor, then spend engineering effort passing signals between them, and the gap between the two is exactly where account takeover succeeds. Transmit collects device and behavioural telemetry inside the authentication flow, so the risk decision and the authentication decision share context. For a bank, that removes an integration that is chronically difficult to keep accurate. Buyers are banks, insurers and large consumer brands, typically replacing a legacy or in-house login system. The trade-off is scope and maturity of the surrounding ecosystem: it is a smaller vendor than the identity incumbents, migrations of a live consumer base are risky projects regardless of vendor, and pricing is not published, which makes early comparison against per-MAU priced competitors difficult.

What people use it for

  • A bank moving a consumer base off passwords to passkeys without losing customers at the migration step
  • An insurer whose account recovery flow is the main account takeover route and needs risk scoring inside it
  • A retailer that wants bot detection at login rather than only at checkout
  • An organisation replacing an in-house customer login system that has become an unfunded engineering liability

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Transmit Security.

  • Pricing is not published, so it cannot be compared early against competitors that post per monthly active user rates, and the eventual quote often mixes per-user and per-transaction units.
  • Migrating a live consumer identity base is a high risk project, and credential migration constraints mean some users must re-register, which shows up as measurable churn.
  • The vendor is smaller than the identity incumbents, so the partner and systems integrator pool is thinner and staffing a large programme is harder.
  • Workforce identity is not the focus, so an organisation wanting one vendor for employees and customers will still run two platforms.
  • The fraud detection value depends on traffic volume feeding the models, so a smaller deployment gets less benefit from exactly the capability that justified choosing it over a plain identity provider.

Answered, with sources

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Do we have to replace our existing identity provider?

No. The services are composable, so detection and response or verification can be adopted alongside an existing provider such as Okta or Entra ID.

Is fraud detection an extra licence?

It is a separate service, but it is designed to run inside the authentication flow rather than as a bolted-on second vendor. Confirm which services are in your quote.

Is there a way to try it?

Yes, a free developer tier exists for evaluation, though production use is an enterprise agreement.
