Where each one falls short
Documented limitations, not opinions. Every one is a constraint you would hit in normal use.
Alvaria
- The October 2025 restructuring wrote off more than 75% of roughly $950 million of debt and handed control to a lender group led by Nut Tree Capital, so the owner is now a credit fund optimising for debt recovery rather than a growth investor, which is a real signal about future research spending.
- The September 2024 spin-out of the workforce management suite to the revived Aspect brand means a buyer who wanted an integrated CX plus WFM stack now signs two contracts with two companies, and first-party integration is no longer guaranteed by a single roadmap.
- Digital channels are underbuilt: reviewers report CXP has no support for WhatsApp, RCS or Viber, and no ability to bring your own carrier for email and SMS, which blocks messaging-first and many international deployments.
- Legacy on-premise upgrades are described by reviewers as long and painful, with a large footprint and hard-to-learn interdependencies, so migration cost is a substantial hidden line item on any modernisation.
- Alvaria is slower than peers to certify new Nuance speech recognition and text-to-speech releases, so speech quality in your IVR runs behind whatever the underlying engine has shipped.
- There is no published pricing, no trial and a mixed on-premise and cloud licensing model, making like-for-like comparison against Genesys, Five9 or NICE genuinely difficult and lengthening the evaluation.
NICE CXone
- Usage-based billing adds unpredictable costs on top of per-agent fees
- Entry-level Omnichannel Suite ($110/agent) includes only basic contact center features

Answered from the vendors’ own pages
Alvaria: Was Alvaria renamed to Aspect?
No. It split. Aspect is the spun-out workforce management business at aspect.com. Alvaria kept outbound and contact centre infrastructure. Confusing the two points procurement at the wrong vendor.
NICE CXone: How much does NICE CXone cost?
NICE CXone pricing starts at $110 per agent per month for the Omnichannel Suite and ranges up to $249 per agent per month for the Ultimate Suite, plus $0.25 per session usage charges. Billing is monthly in arrears with no prepayment required.
SourceAlvaria: Who owns Alvaria now?
Since October 2025, a lender group led by Nut Tree Capital, following an out-of-court debt restructuring. Abry Partners no longer controls the company.
NICE CXone: Does NICE CXone offer a free version or trial?
No free version is publicly available. NICE CXone offers contact sales or demo options to evaluate the platform before purchase.
SourceAlvaria: Can I still buy on-premise?
Yes. Cloud, on-premise and hybrid deployments are all offered, which is one of the few remaining reasons to choose Alvaria over a pure CCaaS vendor.
NICE CXone: What is the difference between NICE CXone suites?
Entry suites ($110-$135/agent) include basic contact center and quality management. Mid-tier suites ($169-$209/agent) add analytics, performance management, and AI features. The Ultimate Suite ($249/agent) includes AI Agents for proactive engagement and self-service automation.
SourceAlvaria: Does it support WhatsApp or RCS?
Not per current reviewer reports on CXP. Voice and some SMS only, with no bring-your-own-carrier option for email and SMS.
