What Truckbase does

Truckbase is a cloud transport management system for asset-based truckload carriers. It handles dispatch, load entry, driver assignment, document capture, settlements, invoicing and factoring submission, with a driver mobile app for status updates and paperwork. It integrates with ELD providers to pull location and hours automatically, and with accounting systems so that an invoice does not need re-keying. The target customer is a carrier running roughly five to a hundred trucks that has outgrown spreadsheets but is not going to buy McLeod. The distinguishing commercial decision is the billing flexibility. Truckbase publishes a minimum of 290 USD a month billed annually and offers five billing shapes: per truck, per driver, per load, flat annual and custom. Per-driver suits carriers with more drivers than tractors; per-load suits brokers and carriers without assets; flat annual suits seasonal operations with high driver turnover where per-driver billing would punish churn. Most TMS vendors offer one meter and make you fit it. Onboarding and implementation are included at no charge, which removes the four-figure setup fee that usually accompanies a TMS switch. Who buys it: owner-operators scaling up and small to mid-size carriers in the United States, especially those whose real pain is settlement accuracy and invoicing speed rather than optimisation. The trade-off is scope. Truckbase is not an enterprise TMS: multi-leg intermodal, complex LTL rating, international customs and deep yard or warehouse functionality are not its territory, and larger carriers outgrow it.

Only the 290 USD monthly minimum is published; the per-truck, per-driver and per-load rates behind it are all consultative, so comparing quotes against another vendor is guesswork.
The published minimum is billed annually, so a carrier wanting month-to-month flexibility pays more or commits for a year up front.
Scope stops well short of enterprise TMS: complex LTL rating, multi-leg intermodal and cross-border customs are not covered, so growing carriers face a migration later.
It is a small, venture-stage software company in a market where carriers expect a system to last a decade, and vendor continuity is a legitimate concern for an operational system of record.
Reporting and analytics are basic compared with established TMS products, so carriers wanting detailed lane profitability analysis end up exporting to spreadsheets anyway.
