project44: If you want carrier-neutral visibility separate from the party sourcing your capacity

Cloud transportation management with a built-in carrier network, sold on freight volume not seats
As of 31 August 2026, Shipwell's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Shipwell is a TMS for shippers and brokers that bundles carrier sourcing, tendering, tracking and freight audit in one system. Softwr lists it under Logistics. Shipwell is available on Web, iOS, Android, API.
Overview
Shipwell is a cloud transportation management system covering the full freight cycle: planning and load building, rate shopping across contracted and spot carriers, tendering, real-time tracking, exception alerts, proof of delivery and freight audit and payment. It sells to shippers, third-party logistics providers and brokers, and it ships with its own carrier network so a customer does not have to arrive with contracted capacity to get value on day one. The distinguishing decision is that the network and the software are the same product. Most TMS vendors sell software and leave sourcing to you; Shipwell will also broker the load. That shortens time to value for a mid-market shipper with a small logistics team, and it creates an obvious tension for anyone who wants a neutral system to run a competitive tender, because the vendor operating the marketplace also participates in it. Pricing is not published; third-party listings put entry engagements around four figures a month, and contracts are annual and volume-based. Buyers are mid-market shippers moving full and less-than-truckload freight in North America, and brokers wanting a modern operating system without building one. The trade-offs are geography and depth: coverage is strongly North American, ocean and air are thinner than a forwarder-grade platform, and complex multi-leg international flows, customs and trade compliance are not what it is built for. Implementation is a project, not a signup, particularly where ERP and WMS integrations are involved.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Shipwell.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

It is not published. Contracts are annual and priced on freight volume; third-party listings suggest entry engagements around $1,000 a month, which should be treated as indicative only.
Yes. It operates its own carrier network alongside the TMS, which speeds up sourcing but means the platform provider also competes for your loads.
It is built around North American truckload and LTL. International ocean and air handling is limited.
No. Deployment involves configuration and integration work, so evaluation happens through a demo and a scoped implementation.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Shipwell, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
