Metaview

AI notetaking and sourcing agents for recruiters, priced per agent rather than per platform

As of 31 August 2026, Metaview has a free plan and paid plans start at $100/month. It records interviews and writes the structured notes a recruiter would otherwise type, then pushes them into the applicant tracking system. Softwr lists it under Recruitment. Metaview is available on Web, Browser extension.

Overview

What Metaview does

Metaview joins interviews and intake calls, transcribes them and produces structured, role-specific notes rather than a raw transcript: competencies evidenced, answers mapped to the scorecard, follow-ups the interviewer should ask next time. Those notes write back into Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever or Workday so the hiring manager reads a consistent summary instead of an interviewer’s shorthand. The product has since expanded from notetaking into agents that source candidate profiles and review applications. The commercially distinctive part is the pricing structure. Metaview charges per user per agent, so a recruiter using only the sourcing agent pays 100 USD per month for the Pro tier and 300 USD for unlimited sourcing, while an organisation that wants notetaking, application review and sourcing stacks those costs. Every plan includes access to the full platform and you pay only for the agents you use. That is transparent, and it is also how a modest-looking figure becomes a large one across a recruiting team. Buyers are in-house talent teams and recruitment agencies with enough interview volume that note quality varies visibly between interviewers. The trade-offs are the ones every meeting-recording product has, plus one specific to hiring: recording candidates raises consent and data protection obligations that are not optional in the EU or in two-party consent US states, and an AI summary of a hiring conversation is a record that can be produced in a discrimination claim.

What people use it for

  • A talent team where hiring managers complain that interview feedback quality varies wildly between interviewers and nobody writes notes within a day of the call
  • An agency recruiter running back-to-back screens who needs a submittable candidate summary produced without an hour of typing afterwards
  • A hiring process under scrutiny for consistency, where every interview needs the same competency evidence recorded in the same shape
  • A small in-house team using the sourcing agent to build a candidate list without paying for a separate sourcing platform seat

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Metaview.

  • Pricing is per user per agent, so a five-person team using notetaking, sourcing and application review multiplies quickly; the visible 100 USD figure is one agent for one recruiter, not a team subscription.
  • Recording candidates triggers consent and data protection duties that vary by jurisdiction, and in the EU and two-party consent US states you must obtain and evidence agreement before recording, which adds a step to every interview and gives candidates a reason to decline.
  • An AI-generated summary of a hiring conversation is a discoverable record; if the summary mischaracterises what a candidate said, that document can surface in a discrimination or unfair rejection claim.
  • Note quality depends on audio quality and on interviewers running structured interviews in the first place; a rambling unstructured conversation produces a rambling unstructured summary, so the tool amplifies existing process rather than fixing it.
  • The advertised prices cover the sourcing agent specifically; pricing for the notetaker, application review and the all-agents bundle is not shown on the same page, so a buyer cannot total the cost of the configuration they actually want without a sales conversation.

Answered, with sources

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

What does Metaview cost?

The sourcing agent is free for the first 100 profiles, then 100 USD per user per month for Pro and 300 USD for Max. Other agents are priced separately and not all rates are published.

Do candidates have to consent to recording?

Yes, in the EU and in two-party consent US states. Metaview provides the capture; obtaining and recording consent remains your legal obligation.

Does it write back to my ATS?

Yes, to Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever, Workday and others, which is the main reason teams adopt it over a generic meeting recorder.

Is it a replacement for an ATS?

No. It produces and files interview records. Requisitions, pipelines and offers stay in your applicant tracking system.
