Technical coding assessment platform priced by annual invite volume, not by seat count alone
As of 1 September 2026, Codility's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A coding skills assessment platform for technical hiring, whose Starter plan is capped at a fixed number of candidate invites per year rather than a simple per-user rate. Softwr lists it under Recruitment. Codility is made by Codility Limited, available on Web.
Overview
Codility provides take-home and live coding assessments used in technical hiring pipelines, with a task library, automated scoring, plagiarism detection and integration into applicant tracking systems. It is one of the older entrants in the technical assessment category, alongside HackerRank, aimed at screening software engineering candidates before a human interview. The distinguishing commercial fact is that its published pricing is metered by candidate invites per year rather than by user seats alone: the Starter plan costs around 1,200 US dollars a year (billed annually only) for up to 120 assessment invites and one platform user, while Scale runs around 500 US dollars a month, or roughly 5,000 US dollars a year on annual billing, for up to 300 invites a year (25 a month) and three platform users. Both tiers are more a hiring-volume cap than a headcount limit, and Custom plans remove the invite ceiling for enterprise volume. Buyers are engineering hiring teams that want structured, comparable coding assessments early in the pipeline, typically at companies hiring a moderate, sustained volume of software engineers. The trade-off is that the invite-based cap means a hiring surge, a busy recruiting quarter or a sudden increase in applicant volume can exhaust the plan's allowance faster than headcount growth would suggest, forcing either per-invite overage charges or a tier upgrade mid-year.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Codility.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.
Each candidate assessment invitation sent counts toward the plan's annual (or monthly, for Scale) invite allowance.
Additional invites beyond the plan limit typically incur per-invite charges or require an upgrade to a higher tier.
No published free tier exists; all plans require payment, with Starter billed annually only.
