Recruitee

Collaborative applicant tracking priced by active job slots rather than recruiter seats

As of 31 August 2026, Recruitee's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A Dutch ATS that charges for the number of jobs you have open, not the number of people using it, which inverts the usual cost model when many hiring managers are involved. Softwr lists it under Recruitment. Recruitee is made by Recruitee, part of Tellent, available on Web, iOS, Android.

Overview

What Recruitee does

Recruitee is an applicant tracking system built in Amsterdam in 2015 around collaborative hiring, where hiring managers and interviewers work inside the system rather than receiving forwarded CVs. It provides a careers site builder, multi-board posting, pipeline automation, evaluation scorecards, scheduling and reporting, with a visual pipeline editor that lets each job carry its own stages. The pricing model is the commercially important detail. Recruitee sells by active job slots with unlimited users, which is the opposite of the per-seat model used by most competitors. For a company with 12 open roles and 60 people involved in interviewing, that is dramatically cheaper and it removes the temptation to keep managers outside the system to save licences. For a company running 80 simultaneous requisitions with three recruiters, the same model is expensive, and the two shapes are not comparable on a headline price at all. Since 2021 Recruitee has been part of Tellent, a group that also sells an HRIS and a performance management product, which means the roadmap is now shaped by suite integration rather than standalone ATS competition. Buyers are European scale-ups and mid-market employers of roughly 50 to 1,000 people. The trade-off is depth: sourcing and recruitment CRM are limited, and US enterprise compliance reporting for equal opportunity obligations is weaker than what a North American buyer expects.

What people use it for

  • A company where dozens of hiring managers interview but only a handful of people run recruitment day to day
  • A European scale-up replacing email-based hiring with structured scorecards and defined stages
  • An employer that wants a decent careers site without commissioning web development
  • A team hiring a steady number of roles per quarter rather than in seasonal spikes

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Recruitee.

  • Job slot pricing punishes high-volume and seasonal hiring, because a retailer opening 60 roles for a Christmas peak pays for slots it does not need for the other ten months of the year.
  • Sourcing and recruitment CRM are shallow compared with dedicated tools, so passive candidate outreach happens in LinkedIn and gets pasted back in.
  • US compliance reporting for equal opportunity and federal contractor obligations is weaker than North American buyers expect, which rules it out for some regulated employers.
  • Ownership by the Tellent group means investment is now weighed against a wider suite, so ATS-only customers compete for roadmap attention with the HRIS and performance products.
  • Reporting is adequate at the funnel level but customers consistently find that anything bespoke requires exporting data and rebuilding the analysis in a spreadsheet or BI tool.

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

How is it actually priced?

By the number of job slots you keep active, with unlimited users. Compare it against per-seat products by modelling your real concurrent requisition count, not headcount.

Who owns Recruitee?

It is part of Tellent, a European group that also sells an HRIS and a performance management product.

Can I pause a job slot?

Slots are reusable, so closing a role frees the slot for the next one. The cost only rises when concurrent open roles exceed your plan.

Is it suitable for agency recruitment?

No. It is built for in-house hiring. Agencies need a system with client and placement management such as Bullhorn or JobAdder.
