JobAdder

Recruitment platform for staffing agencies and in-house teams, majority owned by the SEEK job board group

As of 31 August 2026, JobAdder's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. An Australian ATS and CRM that agencies pick for being usable on day one rather than configurable forever, with unusually direct integration to SEEK job boards. Softwr lists it under Recruitment. JobAdder is available on Web, iOS, Android.

Overview

What JobAdder does

JobAdder is a recruitment platform founded in Sydney in 2007, covering job posting, candidate and client management, pipeline tracking, interview scheduling, placements and reporting. It sells to both recruitment agencies and in-house talent teams, with the agency configuration adding client, contact and placement management. The ownership matters. SEEK, the dominant job board operator across Australia, New Zealand and much of South East Asia, took a majority stake in 2016. That produces a tighter posting and candidate flow with SEEK properties than a third party integration would allow, which in the Australasian market is a material advantage because SEEK is where the applications are. It also means the product roadmap is shaped by a job board business rather than a pure software company, and buyers outside the SEEK footprint get less of the benefit while still buying the same licence. Buyers are small and mid-sized agencies and in-house teams of roughly five to two hundred users, concentrated in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. The trade-off compared with the heavier agency platforms is depth: there is no native pay and bill chain, so contract staffing agencies integrate a separate timesheet and invoicing system, and advanced analytics require an add-on rather than shipping with the core product.

What people use it for

  • An Australian or New Zealand agency that lives on SEEK applications and wants the shortest path from board to pipeline
  • A recruitment firm that wants consultants productive in days rather than running a multi-month implementation
  • An in-house team in APAC that needs agency-grade candidate search without enterprise ATS cost
  • A consultancy whose recruiters work from client sites and need genuine mobile workflow

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about JobAdder.

  • There is no native pay and bill chain, so contract staffing agencies must buy and integrate a separate timesheet and invoicing system and reconcile two sources of placement data.
  • The product is strongest inside the SEEK footprint, and buyers in North America or continental Europe get weaker board coverage while paying the same per user rate.
  • Analytics beyond standard activity and placement reporting require an add-on, which turns a competitive headline price into a higher effective one for data-driven agencies.
  • Pricing is per user per month by quote with annual commitment, so agencies with fluctuating consultant headcount carry licences through quiet quarters.
  • Support and product hours run on Australian time, meaning European and American customers frequently wait overnight for a response to anything the documentation does not answer.

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Who owns JobAdder?

SEEK, the Australasian job board operator, has held a majority stake since 2016, which is why the SEEK integration is deeper than a normal partnership.

Does it handle contractor timesheets and invoicing?

Not natively. It integrates with dedicated pay and bill systems such as Astute Payroll, which adds a second vendor and contract.

Is it suitable outside Australia?

Yes, and it has a real UK customer base, but board coverage and support hours are calibrated to APAC.

How long is implementation?

Days to a few weeks for most agencies, which is its main advantage over the heavier agency platforms.
