Recruiting CRM and AI sourcing tool that layers onto an existing ATS or replaces it
As of 1 September 2026, Gem's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A sourcing and outreach CRM for recruiting teams, sold either as a layer on top of an existing applicant tracking system or as an all-in-one replacement that includes its own ATS. Softwr lists it under Recruitment. Gem is available on Web, Chrome Extension.
Overview
Gem is a recruiting CRM built for proactive sourcing: it finds and enriches candidate contact data, manages outreach sequences, tracks pipeline analytics, and syncs with an existing ATS so recruiters can source and message candidates without leaving one tool. A newer all-in-one mode, Gem All-in-One, adds a built-in applicant tracking system so a company can run the entire recruiting workflow, sourcing through offer, inside Gem rather than syncing to a separate ATS. The distinguishing commercial choice Gem offers is that a buyer keeps their existing ATS (Greenhouse, Workday, Lever and others) and adds Gem purely for sourcing and CRM, or replaces the ATS entirely. Most vendors in this category force one or the other; Gem sells both paths from the same product, which changes the negotiation from "does this integrate with our ATS" to "do we want to migrate off our ATS at all," a much bigger decision with switching costs the sales conversation will understate. Buyers are talent acquisition teams, mostly at venture-backed technology companies, that source candidates proactively rather than relying only on inbound applicants. Pricing outside the published startup tier ($270/month list, discounted to $130/month annually for companies of 1 to 10 employees) is quoted per FTE count and seat type, so a mid-size or enterprise buyer has no public reference price to negotiate against.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Gem.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

No, Gem can run alongside an existing ATS purely for sourcing and CRM; Gem All-in-One is a separate option that includes its own ATS.
Only the 1-10 employee startup tier has a public price; larger teams are quoted based on FTE count and seat mix.
Standard seats cover core sourcing, email-finding and ATS sync; AI-powered seats add sourcing agents, application review and fraud detection.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Gem, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
