The short version
- Each has a real cost: Apptivo the tiers gate the number of apps rather than only the depth, so a business that buys Lite at 15 US dollars because of the CRM and later needs an app in the 46-app Premium set faces a 67 per cent per-seat increase to unlock it.; Daylite it is Apple-only. There is no Windows client, so a single team member on a Windows machine, or a client-facing contractor who is not on a Mac, makes the product unworkable for the whole organisation.
- They diverge on capability: Apptivo covers CRM core, Daylite covers Native Apple apps.
- Prices and features above were last checked on 31 August 2026.

What people use each for
The jobs each tool is most often brought in to do.
Apptivo
- A ten-person consultancy that wants CRM, project timesheets and invoicing on one subscription instead of stitching three tools togethernot Daylite
- A distributor needing quotes, purchase orders and stock levels against the same customer record without an integration projectnot Daylite
- A service business replacing a spreadsheet-driven help desk that also wants the ticket history visible on the sales contactnot Daylite
- A business already paying separately for CRM, invoicing and project tools that wants to cut vendor count and consolidate billingnot Daylite
Daylite
- An all-Mac law firm or architecture practice wants a CRM that behaves like Mac software and files emails from Apple Mail rather than forcing everyone into a browser tab.not Apptivo
- A consultancy needs client relationships and delivery projects in one system, where the project is a real record with its own tasks and meetings rather than a custom object bolted onto a deal.not Apptivo
- A team works frequently without connectivity, on site or in transit, and needs a CRM with a genuine local data store rather than a web app that degrades to nothing offline.not Apptivo
- A small business already standardised on Apple hardware wants to avoid paying for a CRM whose Mac experience is an afterthought.not Apptivo
Where each one falls short
Documented limitations, not opinions. Every one is a constraint you would hit in normal use.
Apptivo
- The tiers gate the number of apps rather than only the depth, so a business that buys Lite at 15 US dollars because of the CRM and later needs an app in the 46-app Premium set faces a 67 per cent per-seat increase to unlock it.
- Workflow automation is capped at 25 rules on both Lite and Premium, which is low for any business automating more than a basic sales process, and lifting it means jumping to Ultimate at 40 US dollars.
- Each app is shallower than the dedicated product it replaces, so teams that outgrow one module end up buying a specialist tool anyway and lose the single-record advantage that justified the suite.
- There is no free tier, only a 30-day trial, so evaluating the breadth properly against real data requires paying or rushing the trial window.
- The interface is dense and inconsistent between apps because they were built over many years, which lengthens onboarding and produces persistent user complaints in teams that are not technically confident.
Daylite
- It is Apple-only. There is no Windows client, so a single team member on a Windows machine, or a client-facing contractor who is not on a Mac, makes the product unworkable for the whole organisation.
- The web experience is secondary to the native apps, so remote access from a borrowed or non-Apple computer is limited in a way buyers used to browser CRMs do not anticipate.
- It has no built-in marketing automation, email campaigns or lead scoring, so anything beyond one-to-one email means a separate tool and a Zapier connection.
- Plan caps are hard rather than advisory: Leap is a single user with 500 contacts, and crossing twenty users forces you from Growth to Scale, which is a 50 per cent increase in the per-user rate for capacity you may not need.
- Third-party integrations are thin compared with HubSpot or Pipedrive, and much of what does exist runs through Zapier, so accounting, telephony and support connections are indirect and add their own subscription cost.

Answered from the vendors’ own pages
Apptivo: Does Apptivo have a free plan?
No. There is a 30-day free trial; the cheapest ongoing plan is Lite at 15 US dollars per user per month billed annually.
Daylite: Does Daylite run on Windows?
No. It is macOS, iPadOS and iOS only. This is the single most common reason buyers rule it out.
Apptivo: What is the real difference between Lite and Premium?
Mostly app count and dashboards: Lite opens 18 apps, Premium opens 46 with custom dashboards. Check which specific app you need before choosing on price.
Daylite: Is there a web version?
There is browser access, but the product is designed around the native Mac app and the web view is not a full replacement.
Apptivo: Is monthly billing more expensive?
Yes, by roughly a third. Lite is 15 annually versus 20 monthly, Premium 25 versus 30, Ultimate 40 versus 50.
Daylite: What does it cost?
Leap is 15 US dollars a month for one user billed annually, Growth 30 per user and Scale 45 per user, rising to 20, 40 and 60 on monthly billing.
Apptivo: Are all fifty apps really included?
Only on the top tiers. The lower tiers include a subset, and the app list per tier is the thing to verify before buying.
Daylite: Does it work offline?
Yes. The Mac app keeps a local store and syncs through Marketcircle Cloud when a connection returns.
