The short version

  • Only HubSpot Service Hub has a free tier, so it costs nothing to try first.
  • Each has a real cost: Alvaria the October 2025 restructuring wrote off more than 75% of roughly $950 million of debt and handed control to a lender group led by Nut Tree Capital, so the owner is now a credit fund optimising for debt recovery rather than a growth investor, which is a real signal about future research spending.; HubSpot Service Hub the free tier is capped at 2 users
  • They diverge on capability: Alvaria covers Compliant outbound dialling, HubSpot Service Hub covers Ticketing.

Where each one falls short

Documented limitations, not opinions. Every one is a constraint you would hit in normal use.

Alvaria

  • The October 2025 restructuring wrote off more than 75% of roughly $950 million of debt and handed control to a lender group led by Nut Tree Capital, so the owner is now a credit fund optimising for debt recovery rather than a growth investor, which is a real signal about future research spending.
  • The September 2024 spin-out of the workforce management suite to the revived Aspect brand means a buyer who wanted an integrated CX plus WFM stack now signs two contracts with two companies, and first-party integration is no longer guaranteed by a single roadmap.
  • Digital channels are underbuilt: reviewers report CXP has no support for WhatsApp, RCS or Viber, and no ability to bring your own carrier for email and SMS, which blocks messaging-first and many international deployments.
  • Legacy on-premise upgrades are described by reviewers as long and painful, with a large footprint and hard-to-learn interdependencies, so migration cost is a substantial hidden line item on any modernisation.
  • Alvaria is slower than peers to certify new Nuance speech recognition and text-to-speech releases, so speech quality in your IVR runs behind whatever the underlying engine has shipped.
  • There is no published pricing, no trial and a mixed on-premise and cloud licensing model, making like-for-like comparison against Genesys, Five9 or NICE genuinely difficult and lengthening the evaluation.

HubSpot Service Hub

  • The free tier is capped at 2 users
  • Professional carries a one-off onboarding fee of $1,500, and Enterprise $3,500, on top of the seat price
  • Seats are $90 a month billed monthly against $100 billed annually on Professional, so the annual commitment is not the cheaper option per month
  • AI features run on monthly credits, 500 on Starter and 3,000 on Professional, which do not roll over
  • Extra credits cost $0.010 each once the monthly allocation is spent
