Brandwatch: Brandwatch has the deeper historical archive and better exhaustive-capture story if sampling is unacceptable for your use case.

Social listening with image recognition, priced from $499 a month with a hard limit on search topics
As of 31 August 2026, YouScan starts at $499/month. A listening platform whose differentiator is finding brand mentions in images where the brand name never appears in text. Softwr lists it under Social Media. YouScan is made by YouScan Limited, available on Web.
Overview
YouScan monitors X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Reddit, Bluesky, review sites, news, blogs and forums, with sentiment analysis, auto-categorisation into complaints, praise, opinions and comparisons, spam filtering, duplicate merging and alerting. Insights Copilot answers questions conversationally over your own mention data, and Audience Insights profiles who is talking. Audio and video content, including YouTube, is transcribed and searched. Visual Insights is the genuine differentiator. It recognises logos, objects and scenes in images, which surfaces mentions where a product appears in a photo but is never named in the caption. For consumer brands in food, drink, apparel and beauty, that is a category of conversation text-only tools simply cannot see. YouScan claims it adds around eighty percent more mentions than text alone. Buyers are consumer brands and their agencies. The trade-offs are two structural ones. First, the constraint on the entry plan is not mentions, it is topics: Starter 3 gives three text search topics for $499 a month billed annually, which forces agencies with several clients to combine projects into one query or move to the custom tier. Second, and more importantly, the Unlimited tier delivers unlimited sampled mentions. High-volume topics collect every nth mention and analytics are extrapolated from the sample. The sampling frequency is set when the topic is created and cannot be changed afterwards, so getting it wrong means rebuilding the topic and losing historical continuity. If your requirement is exhaustive capture for legal, regulatory or crisis forensic purposes, no tier at any price delivers it.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about YouScan.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Brandwatch: Brandwatch has the deeper historical archive and better exhaustive-capture story if sampling is unacceptable for your use case.

Talkwalker: Talkwalker also does image recognition and covers more languages, worth comparing directly against Visual Insights.

Mention: Mention is far cheaper and self-serve if you need alerting on brand keywords rather than analysis.

No. It collects a sample of high-volume topics and extrapolates the analytics. Ask for the sampling ratio in writing if completeness matters.
No. Visual Insights and Audience Insights are included on the Unlimited tier only, which is quoted rather than published.
It was founded in Kyiv but contracts through a Cyprus entity and moved infrastructure to Azure West Europe. It exited the Russian market entirely, liquidating both Russian entities by mid-2024, and now contractually bars customers with Russian Federation connections.
Not at the published tier. Starter 3 is $499 a month billed annually.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for YouScan, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
