Brandwatch: If you need deep historical data and analysis rather than fast alerting at a low price

Media monitoring and PR intelligence with published European pricing and unlimited users on every plan
As of 31 August 2026, Determ starts at €99/month. Determ, formerly Mediatoolkit, is a Zagreb-built monitoring tool that prices by mention volume rather than by seat, so the whole communications team and the agency can log in on a 99 euro plan. Softwr lists it under Social Media. Determ is available on Web, iOS, Android.
Overview
Determ monitors online and social media for keywords, delivering near real-time alerts, sentiment analysis, influencer identification and reporting. It covers news sites, blogs, forums, review sites and the major social platforms across a wide range of languages, and offers an API for pushing mentions into an internal system. It began life as Mediatoolkit and rebranded to Determ, with the older name still appearing across review sites and integration directories. The commercial design is the point. Determ publishes its prices and charges by topics and mention volume, not by user seat: Focus is 99 euros a month for one topic and 1,000 mentions, Expand is 299 for five topics and 5,000 mentions, Command is 499 for ten topics and 10,000 mentions, and every tier includes unlimited users and unlimited keywords. For a communications team that wants the agency, the regional offices and the executive assistant all seeing the same alerts, that removes the seat maths that makes Meltwater and Cision expensive. Buyers are in-house communications and PR teams, agencies and public sector bodies, disproportionately in Europe where its language coverage and local source depth are strongest. The trade-offs are real: no print monitoring, limited long-range historical reporting, and gaps on Facebook and LinkedIn that follow from those platforms restricting third-party access rather than from anything Determ did wrong.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Determ.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Yes. Mediatoolkit rebranded to Determ; older reviews and directory listings still use the previous name.
They are not. Every published plan includes unlimited users and unlimited keywords; you pay for topics and monthly mention volume.
No. Online and social only.
You stop receiving new mentions on that topic for the period unless you upgrade, so set queries tightly before a campaign launch.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Determ, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
