OneTrust: Broader platform covering privacy, third-party risk and security compliance with a much larger integration catalogue

Privacy management platform with regulatory research and the TRUSTe certification programme
As of 31 August 2026, TrustArc's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A privacy-only platform that pairs consent, assessments and data inventory tooling with the Nymity regulatory research library and TRUSTe certifications. Softwr lists it under Cybersecurity. TrustArc is made by TrustArc Inc., available on Web.
Overview
TrustArc sells privacy management software covering consent and preference management, privacy assessments including data protection impact assessments, data inventory and mapping, individual rights request handling, and cookie consent. Around that software sits two assets that competitors do not have: Nymity Research, a regulatory intelligence library covering well over a hundred jurisdictions and frameworks with ongoing updates, acquired when TrustArc bought Nymity in November 2019, and the TRUSTe certification and assessment business, which conducts third-party privacy verification and issues a recognised seal. That combination is the commercial argument. OneTrust competes across the whole of GRC; TrustArc stays in privacy and sells the research plus the independent verification alongside the tooling. If your requirement is evidence that a third party has assessed your privacy practices, for a customer contract or an APEC style cross-border transfer, TrustArc offers something a pure software vendor does not. If your requirement is the widest possible integration surface and a single platform for privacy, security and third-party risk, it does not. Buyers are mid-market and enterprise organisations with a named privacy lead, often companies with consumer-facing brands that want the seal, and multinationals that need a defensible answer on cross-border transfers. Pricing is not published; reported enterprise contracts span a very wide range depending on modules and headcount, and certification services are priced separately from the platform. The trade-off is that the software layer is generally considered less deep than OneTrust and the integration catalogue is smaller, so automated discovery across a sprawling estate is harder work.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about TrustArc.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

OneTrust: Broader platform covering privacy, third-party risk and security compliance with a much larger integration catalogue

BigID: Better if the hard problem is discovering and classifying sensitive data across a large estate rather than documenting a programme

Osano: Considerably cheaper for organisations whose real requirement is consent management and a data subject request queue

Didomi: Stronger consent management for European publishers and advertising heavy sites

Yes. TrustArc is the renamed TRUSTe business and still operates the TRUSTe certification programme as a subsidiary.
Yes, it includes a consent manager with scanning and banner delivery, though pure-play consent vendors are cheaper if that is all you need.
