Feedzai: If you need real-time scoring inside a card authorisation path at issuer scale

No-code fraud and AML risk operations platform for fintechs and neobanks
As of 1 September 2026, Unit21's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Fraud and AML detection where the risk team writes and ships rules themselves without engineering. Softwr lists it under Cybersecurity. Unit21 is available on Web.
Overview
Unit21 provides transaction monitoring, fraud detection, case management and regulatory reporting for fintechs, neobanks, crypto firms and payment companies. Its central design decision is that risk and compliance staff, not engineers, author and deploy detection logic. Rules are built in a visual editor, backtested against historical data, shipped to production and monitored without a code release. That matters commercially because a fintech risk team typically has no dedicated engineering allocation. In a rules engine owned by engineering, every new fraud pattern waits behind a sprint. Unit21 collapses that loop to minutes, and it also gives the compliance officer an audit trail showing exactly who changed which rule and when, which is what an examiner asks for. The platform also generates and files SARs, which removes a chunk of manual reporting work. Buyers are venture-backed financial companies at the point where their regulator or bank partner starts asking pointed questions about their monitoring programme. The trade-off is scale. It is built for the operational profile of a growing fintech rather than for the transaction volumes and latency budgets of a card issuer, and organisations that grow into tier one volumes generally end up evaluating heavier platforms.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Unit21.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Only for the initial data integration. After that the design intent is that risk and compliance staff author and deploy rules themselves.
Yes, it generates and electronically files suspicious activity reports to FinCEN. Non-US regimes are not covered to the same depth.
Yes. Backtesting against historical data to see projected alert volume is one of the more useful parts of the product, because alert volume is the real cost.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Unit21, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish.
