Applied Epic: Deeper commercial lines handling, broader carrier download and real agency accounting, at several times the seat cost

Agency management system for independent insurance agencies, now sold as Momentum AMP
As of 31 August 2026, NowCerts starts at $99/month. A cloud agency management system for small and mid-sized independent property and casualty agencies. Softwr lists it under Insurance. NowCerts is made by Momentum (formerly NowCerts Inc.), available on Web, iOS, Android.
Overview
NowCerts is a browser-based agency management system for independent insurance agencies, covering client and policy records, ACORD forms, certificate issuance, commission reconciliation, renewal tracking and a self-service insured portal. It was built for agencies that found Applied Epic and AMS360 too heavy and too expensive to run. The fact that decides a shortlist here is the name. NowCerts Inc. rebranded to Momentum in November 2024, the product is now marketed as Momentum AMP, and the company then bought TrustedChoice.com in June 2025 and relaunched it as Momentum Edge. The nowcerts.com domain still resolves and existing agencies still call it NowCerts, but contracts, support and the pricing page are Momentum. If you are evaluating on the strength of older reviews written about NowCerts, you are reading about a product with a different owner strategy, one now pushing lead generation and a rating engine alongside the AMS. Buyers are one to twenty-person independent agencies, often personal lines or small commercial, frequently switching off spreadsheets or off a Vertafore product whose per-seat cost stopped making sense. Published pricing starts at 99 US dollars a month for a single user on Essentials, 169 for two users, 349 for five, with additional seats at 45 dollars each; that is genuinely cheaper than the incumbents. The trade-off is depth: accounting, carrier download breadth and commercial lines handling are thinner than Epic, and much of the agency-specific setup falls on you unless you buy the separate professional services retainer, which starts at 1,950 dollars a month.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about NowCerts.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

EZLynx: Stronger comparative rating built into the management system, which suits personal lines agencies that quote heavily

Yes, but under a different name. NowCerts Inc. rebranded to Momentum in November 2024 and the agency management system is now sold as Momentum AMP. Contract with Momentum, not NowCerts.
349 US dollars a month on the Business plan covers five users. Add roughly 100 to 300 a month if you want the rating engine, and a one-off 900 dollar onboarding fee.
Yes, through the industry download infrastructure, but carrier coverage is narrower than Applied or Vertafore systems, so confirm your specific carriers before signing.
For small personal lines and light commercial agencies, generally yes. For agencies with heavy commercial schedules or trust accounting requirements, generally no.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for NowCerts, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
