Applied Epic: If the agency has outgrown small agency tooling and needs full agency accounting, benefits and deep carrier connectivity, with the multi year contract that comes with it

Agency management system for small independent property and casualty agencies
As of 31 August 2026, Jenesis Software starts at $50/month. A US agency management system aimed at independent P&C agencies of roughly one to fifteen staff, and one of the very few in its category that publishes a per user price at all. Softwr lists it under Insurance. Jenesis Software is available on Web, iOS, Android.
Overview
Jenesis Software sells JenesisNow, a browser based agency management system for independent insurance agencies in the United States. It handles client and policy records, ACORD form completion, certificates of insurance, commission tracking, receipting and invoicing, two way email and SMS, and IVANS carrier downloads so that policy data lands from carriers rather than being keyed in. The company is privately held and based in Shelby, North Carolina, and has sold into small personal lines and small commercial agencies since 1998. What distinguishes it commercially is price transparency in a category built on quotes. JenesisNow Basic is published at around 50 US dollars per user per month and Pro at around 70, against Applied Epic and Vertafore AMS360 deals that are negotiated, multi year and frequently carry five figure implementation charges. That matters because the buyers here are two and three person agencies for whom a system costing more than a producer commission is simply out of reach. The catch that the price page understates is the base fee levied per physical agency location, which turns a multi branch agency from a per seat purchase into a per site one. The buyer is the agency principal, usually the person who also sells, and the trade off is scope. Jenesis covers the operational spine of a small agency well and stops there. There is no benefits administration, no surplus lines tax handling of consequence, no meaningful analytics layer, and the carrier download breadth is narrower than the large incumbents. Agencies that grow past roughly twenty staff, add commercial lines complexity or acquire other agencies typically migrate out, and the migration is manual because the export options are limited.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Jenesis Software.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Yes. JenesisNow Basic is roughly 50 US dollars per user per month and Pro roughly 70, which is unusual in agency management systems. What is not published is the base fee charged per physical agency location, and you must ask for that figure before comparing.
Only for small agencies. It lacks the accounting, benefits, surplus lines and reporting depth those systems carry, and most agencies migrating up rather than down leave Jenesis somewhere around twenty staff.
No. It passes data to third party raters such as EZLynx rather than producing carrier quotes itself, so you still licence a rater separately.
Only receipting, invoicing and basic receivables. There is no general ledger, so trust accounting is normally kept in a separate accounting package.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Jenesis Software, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
