Moov

Payments API with a published rate card covering card acceptance, ACH and instant payouts

As of 31 August 2026, Moov starts at $500/month. Moov is one of the very few embedded payments platforms that prints its actual rates, including the five hundred dollar monthly minimum. Softwr lists it under APIs. Moov is made by Moov Financial, available on Web, API, iOS, Android.

Overview

What Moov does

Moov provides an API for accepting, storing and sending money in the United States. It covers online and tap-to-pay card acceptance, ACH in both directions, real-time payments and push-to-card payouts, plus a wallet abstraction that lets a platform hold balances for its users. It is aimed at software companies embedding payments into their own product rather than at merchants buying a checkout. The fact that changes shortlists is that Moov publishes a full rate card. Card acceptance is interchange-plus at 0.60 percent and 15 cents online, or 0.50 percent and 15 cents for tap to pay, with 1.5 percent added for international cards. Next-day ACH is 25 cents and same-day 40 cents, ACH returns cost 5 dollars and unauthorised returns 15 dollars, disputes cost 15 dollars, RTP credits and push-to-card are 0.95 percent capped at 5 dollars with a 50 cent floor. There is a 500 US dollar monthly minimum and a 50 cent per active wallet monthly charge. Nearly every competitor in embedded payments makes you sign an NDA to learn any of this, so a platform can model its margin against Moov in an afternoon. The trade-off is scope. Moov is United States only, its card acquiring economics are less negotiable at very high volume than a direct acquirer relationship, and the per-active-wallet charge means a platform with many low-activity end users pays for accounts that move little money. It suits vertical SaaS companies with predictable US volumes who want honest unit economics they can pass through to their own customers, and it is a poor fit for anyone whose growth plan is international.

What people use it for

  • A vertical SaaS company embedding payments that needs published unit economics to price its own product before signing anything
  • A marketplace paying contractors that wants same-day ACH and instant push-to-card in one API with the cost of each visible
  • A platform that must hold balances for end users between collection and payout without becoming a money transmitter
  • A software company moving off a legacy gateway that wants interchange-plus transparency instead of a blended rate that hides interchange increases

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Moov.

  • The 500 US dollar monthly minimum makes Moov unattractive below roughly 80,000 dollars a month of card volume, since the minimum rather than the rate becomes your effective price.
  • The 50 cent monthly charge per active wallet penalises platforms with many end users who transact rarely, and that cost grows with your user base rather than your revenue.
  • United States only, so any platform with international sellers or buyers needs a second provider and a second reconciliation process.
  • At very high volume the published interchange-plus markup is less competitive than a directly negotiated acquiring relationship, so success eventually creates a reason to leave.
  • The ecosystem of prebuilt integrations, plugins and third-party tooling is far smaller than Stripe's, so anything outside the core API, from tax handling to subscription logic, is work you build yourself.

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Does Moov publish its prices?

Yes, in unusual detail: interchange-plus card rates, per-transaction ACH and RTP charges, dispute and return fees, and the monthly minimum are all on the pricing page.

What is the monthly minimum?

500 US dollars, with no setup fee. Wallet charges and transaction fees count towards it.

Can I use Moov outside the United States?

No. Moov handles US payments only, though it accepts international cards at an extra 1.5 percent.

Is Moov a bank?

No. It is a payments platform working with partner financial institutions, so account and settlement arrangements depend on those partners.
