project44: If what you need is multimodal tracking across every carrier you already use, rather than capacity plus a portal

Digital freight brokerage sold together with the TMS, dock scheduling and gate tools that book the loads
As of 31 August 2026, Loadsmart's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Loadsmart brokers truckload freight and also sells the software that books it, so the company quoting your lane owns the system recommending the quote. Softwr lists it under Logistics. Loadsmart is made by Loadsmart Inc., available on Web, iOS, Android, API.
Overview
Loadsmart is a New York freight technology company that operates a digital truckload brokerage and sells software around it. The software line covers ShipperGuide, a transportation management system for shippers; Opendock, a dock appointment scheduling product for warehouses; and NavTrac, camera based gate and yard automation. The brokerage books spot and contract truckload, with instant priced quotes offered inside the software. What separates it from an independent TMS is that the vendor is also a carrier of your freight in commercial terms. An instant quote in ShipperGuide is a Loadsmart capacity commitment at a Loadsmart price, not a market read, and the brokerage margin is what lets the software be priced the way it is. That is not automatically bad, because a mid market shipper with no TMS budget gets a system of record it could not otherwise fund, but it does mean the tool that measures your freight spend is operated by a party earning from it. Opendock is the piece most often bought on its own, because a warehouse needs appointment scheduling no matter who brokers the load. The buyers are mid market shippers moving roughly five hundred to ten thousand loads a year who have been running on spreadsheets and email, plus 3PL and private warehouses buying Opendock alone. The trade off is neutrality. If you have negotiated your own contract rates with a carrier panel and want a system of record that treats every carrier identically, an independent TMS is the cleaner structure, and Loadsmart is better understood as a managed capacity provider with a portal attached.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Loadsmart.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Answered, with sources
Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.
Yes, it will tender to your carrier panel, but the instant quoting and the managed service are where the product invests and where the commercial relationship sits.
Yes. It is the most commonly standalone purchase, and warehouses buy it without ever tendering freight to Loadsmart.
No. Every deal is quoted, and software cost is often discussed together with freight volume.
It is not a visibility network. Tracking covers freight moving through Loadsmart and connected carriers, not your whole carrier base across every mode.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Loadsmart, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
