What Transfix does
Transfix is a New York freight company founded in 2013 that brokers full truckload shipments and sells the planning and execution software it built to run that brokerage. The shipper facing side covers load tendering, routing guide management, appointment and tracking data, and analytics on lane performance; the carrier facing side is a load board and driver application. It concentrates on North American dry van and reefer truckload rather than parcel, ocean or air. The fact that changes an evaluation is the corporate history. In 2021 Transfix agreed to list through a merger with a special purpose acquisition company at a valuation around one billion dollars, and that agreement was terminated in 2022 when the freight market and the listing market turned together.
