LabWare: Larger installed base, dominant in regulated pharmaceutical QC

Enterprise LIMS with integrated ELN and biobanking capability
As of 30 August 2026, LabVantage's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. An enterprise laboratory platform combining LIMS, ELN, LES and SDMS in one product, avoiding the integration problem of stitching four vendors together. Softwr lists it under Research. LabVantage is made by LabVantage Solutions, available on Web, Cloud, On-premise.
Overview
LabVantage is an enterprise laboratory information management system that combines LIMS, electronic laboratory notebook, laboratory execution system and scientific data management in a single platform. That combination is its central argument: laboratories that would otherwise run four systems from different vendors, with the integration and validation burden that creates, can run one. It has particular depth in biobanking and pharmaceutical research, where sample provenance, consent tracking and long-term specimen storage matter as much as test results. Biobanking is a genuinely distinct requirement, and the number of platforms that handle it properly is small. It is web-based and can be deployed on-premise or in the cloud, and offers pre-configured versions for particular industries to shorten implementation. Those accelerators help but do not remove the fundamental cost: an enterprise laboratory platform still needs configuration to the laboratory workflows and, in regulated settings, validation.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about LabVantage.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

LIMS, electronic laboratory notebook, laboratory execution and scientific data management as one product. Laboratories that would otherwise integrate and validate four vendors avoid that work.
Yes. Specimen provenance, consent tracking and decades-long storage are distinct from test result management, and the number of platforms handling them properly is small.
Not published. Enterprise annual licensing plus implementation, quoted on scope.
They help by supplying pre-configured workflows for a vertical. They do not remove laboratory-specific configuration or, in regulated settings, validation.
LabWare has the larger installed base and deeper pharmaceutical QC dominance. LabVantage argues on the unified LIMS and ELN platform and on biobanking. Both are enterprise projects.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for LabVantage, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
