AWS (Amazon Web Services): If you have the security engineering capacity to build and certify the environment yourself and want to avoid a platform subscription

Cloud bioinformatics platform and trusted research environment, sold by Velsera
As of 31 August 2026, Seven Bridges's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A genomics analysis platform for running and developing pipelines on cloud infrastructure, still sold under the Seven Bridges name after its parent merged into Velsera. Softwr lists it under Research. Seven Bridges is made by Velsera, available on Web, API, Cloud.
Overview
The Seven Bridges Platform is a cloud environment for bioinformatic analysis and pipeline development, presented as a trusted research environment. Researchers build and run workflows in Common Workflow Language against very large genomic datasets without provisioning infrastructure, and the platform is cloud-agnostic, bringing analysis to where the data already sits rather than requiring bulk transfer. It underpins several major public data commons, including the Cancer Genomics Cloud, which is the clearest signal of what it is designed for. The reason institutional buyers choose it is the compliance surface rather than the analysis features, which have credible open source equivalents. The platform carries FedRAMP Moderate, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, dbGaP and a stack of ISO certifications including 27001, 27017, 27018 and 27701. For a group working with controlled-access human genomic data under a data use agreement, that paperwork is the product; assembling the equivalent on raw cloud infrastructure is a year of security engineering that no research budget wants to fund. Ownership has changed and matters. Seven Bridges was acquired by Summa Equity in 2023 and merged with Pierian and UgenTec to form Velsera, which sells the platform alongside clinical interpretation and diagnostics products. The Seven Bridges brand survived the merger and is still actively sold. Pricing is not published, and the practical cost model is a platform subscription plus cloud compute and storage that scales with what you actually run, which means budget forecasting depends on analysis volume more than on headcount.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Seven Bridges.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Answered, with sources
Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.
Yes. It is sold by Velsera, formed in 2023 when Summa Equity merged Seven Bridges with Pierian and UgenTec. The Seven Bridges name was retained for the platform.
FedRAMP Moderate, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, dbGaP and ISO 27001, 27017, 27018 and 27701, which is the usual reason institutions choose it over building on raw cloud.
Not published. Expect a platform subscription plus consumption charges for cloud compute and storage.
No. The platform is cloud-agnostic and designed to bring analysis to where the data already resides.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Seven Bridges, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish.
