Relativity: Deeper analytics, scripting and a large partner ecosystem for firms with established review teams

Cloud e-discovery priced by data volume, with review, legal hold and case preparation in one platform
As of 30 August 2026, DISCO's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. DISCO sells e-discovery as an all-in per-gigabyte subscription rather than the itemised processing, hosting and user charges the sector grew up on, which makes small matters cheap and very large ones expensive. Softwr lists it under Legal. DISCO is made by CS Disco, Inc., available on Web.
Overview
DISCO, operated by CS Disco, Inc. of Austin, Texas, is a cloud platform for litigation data: ingestion and processing, search and review, technology assisted review, production, legal hold and case preparation. It listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021 and sells to United States law firms, corporate legal departments and government bodies. The commercial differentiator is the pricing model. Traditional e-discovery bills processing per gigabyte, hosting per gigabyte per month, users per seat and analytics as an extra, which makes budgeting a matter almost impossible before data arrives. DISCO pushed an all-in per-gigabyte rate with unlimited users, and that single change is why firms shortlist it: the litigation budget becomes a function of data volume alone. The corollary is that once collections run to terabytes, the same simplicity works against the buyer, because there is no lever to pull other than culling data before ingestion. Buyers are litigation teams that want speed and predictable pricing without running their own review infrastructure. The trade-offs are structural. Public-company reporting has come with losses, leadership change including the departure of the founder in 2023, and pressure to sell AI features quickly. Deep review analytics and the third-party ecosystem around Relativity remain deeper, and hosting is cloud only in United States regions, which rules the product out where data must stay in a specific jurisdiction.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about DISCO.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Per gigabyte of hosted data per month, all-in, with unlimited users. There is no published rate card, so it is quoted.
Coverage is centred on United States cloud regions, so confirm residency before shortlisting for European or Australian matters.
On small and mid-sized matters usually yes, because seats and analytics are included. On very large collections the volume charge often overtakes a negotiated Relativity arrangement.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for DISCO, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
