What CivicPlus Asset Management does
CivicPlus Asset Management tracks municipal infrastructure and the work done on it: water and sewer lines, streets, signs, parks equipment, vehicles and buildings. It handles asset registers, work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, service requests, inventory and time tracking, with an Esri ArcGIS integration for mapping and a link to SeeClickFix, the citizen reporting product CivicPlus already owned. The utility billing side, also acquired from Beehive, remains a separate product line. The reason to look at it is portfolio rather than the software itself. CivicPlus sells municipal websites, agendas and minutes, permitting, recreation management and 311 citizen reporting to thousands of small United States local governments. Buying asset management from the vendor that already runs the city website and citizen request line collapses several small contracts and removes the integration work between a 311 system and a work order system, which for a town with three IT staff is a real consideration. It is a small-government answer, not a large-utility one. Buyers are small and mid-sized United States cities, towns, counties and rural utility districts. The trade-offs are ownership churn and platform generation. Beehive was an independent Nebraska software company acquired in early 2025; its product is now one line in a large private-equity-backed govtech portfolio, and CivicPlus has a record of acquiring and consolidating.
