Calendly: The incumbent with a far wider integration list, if you need CRM and enterprise administration

Scheduling with an unusually large free tier and heavy branding control
As of 31 August 2026, Zcal is free to use. A booking link tool whose free plan covers unlimited links and calendar connections, which is more than most competitors give away. Softwr lists it under Scheduling. Zcal is available on Web.
Overview
Zcal generates personalised booking pages that read a connected calendar and let people book time without back and forth email. It covers custom questions on booking, multiple durations and locations, group events, meeting polls, automated email reminders and a welcome video on the booking page, and it connects to Google, Outlook and Apple calendars plus Meet, Teams, Zoom and Stripe for paid bookings. What separates it from the category is where the paywall sits. Most scheduling tools restrict the number of active event types or calendar connections on the free plan, which pushes anyone with more than one meeting type onto a subscription within a week. Zcal leaves unlimited links and unlimited calendar accounts on the free tier and puts the wall at team functionality, round robin and collective events, branding removal, custom fonts, SMS reminders and custom domains. For a solo consultant that difference is the whole subscription. Buyers are individuals, coaches, recruiters and small sales teams who want a branded booking page without a per seat bill. The trade-off is maturity: it is a smaller vendor than the incumbents, the integration list is short compared with the established players, and anything that depends on a deep CRM connection or enterprise administration is not what this product is for.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Zcal.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Cal.com: Open source and self hostable, if data residency or customisation matters more than polish

SavvyCal: Better if you want invitees to overlay their own calendar when picking a time

Setmore: Worth comparing for service businesses that need staff and appointment management rather than just a link

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Zcal, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
