Setmore: A close competitor with a similar free tier and stronger phone-based support

Appointment, class and resource booking with an unusually capable free tier
As of 31 August 2026, Picktime has a free plan and paid plans start at $3/month. A booking tool that gives away three staff members, two locations and unlimited appointments at no cost, then charges a few dollars per user per month for SMS and payment features. Softwr lists it under Scheduling. Picktime is available on Web, iOS, Android.
Overview
Picktime provides an online booking page, calendar management, customer records, class and course booking, and resource scheduling for rooms, equipment and vehicles. It targets small service businesses, tutors, salons, clinics, libraries and community organisations that need a booking page and reminders without an enterprise scheduling contract. The distinguishing feature is how much sits below the paywall. The free plan carries three staff, two locations, unlimited appointments and a public booking page with PayPal payments, which is more than most competitors allow before charging. That makes it viable as a permanent tool for a very small business rather than a trial, and it is why it turns up in libraries, community centres and university departments that have no software budget at all. Buyers are micro businesses and non commercial organisations. The trade off is depth. Reporting is thin, the integration list is short outside Zapier, there is no meaningful workflow automation, and support is email based. Anyone whose scheduling logic involves routing rules, complex availability or revenue reporting will exhaust it quickly.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Picktime.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Picktime, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
