Entity resolution and network analytics for financial crime investigation

As of 1 September 2026, Quantexa's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A decision intelligence platform that stitches fragmented customer, transaction and third-party records into resolved entities and networks so investigators can see the counterparty two hops away. Softwr lists it under Cybersecurity. Quantexa is available on Web, Linux.

Overview

What Quantexa does

Quantexa is a UK founded software company whose platform performs entity resolution across internal and external data, then builds networks of relationships between the resolved entities. It sits behind AML transaction monitoring, sanctions investigation, fraud, credit risk and KYC processes at large banks and government agencies, usually deployed on the customer's own cloud tenancy rather than as a shared service. The distinguishing capability is that Quantexa treats entity resolution as the product rather than as a preprocessing step. Most financial crime tools alert on a transaction; Quantexa is designed to answer whether the two parties in that transaction are connected through a shared director, address or device three degrees away. That matters commercially because false positive reduction in AML is where the operational cost sits, and a bank running tens of thousands of alerts a month is paying analyst salaries, not licence fees. Institutions that get value are the ones that already knew their alert backlog was mostly noise and could quantify it. Buyers are compliance and financial crime functions at large banks, insurers and public sector bodies, generally with a multi-year programme and a systems integrator involved. The trade-off is time to value. Quantexa is not a product you switch on; the resolution rules need tuning against your own data quality, and organisations without a governed data platform underneath spend the first year building one.

What people use it for

  • A bank whose AML alert backlog is dominated by false positives and wants network context to close them faster
  • Sanctions investigation where the sanctioned party is not the account holder but a connected director or shareholder
  • Merging customer records across retail, commercial and wealth divisions after an acquisition to see total exposure
  • A tax or benefits agency looking for organised fraud rings rather than individual claimants

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Quantexa.

  • Pricing is never published and lands in the seven figure range annually for a tier one deployment, so it is out of reach for mid-sized institutions no matter how well the analytics would fit.
  • Output quality is bounded by input data quality, and organisations without governed customer data spend the first phase of the programme fixing feeds rather than catching criminals.
  • Implementation typically requires a systems integrator and runs into quarters rather than weeks, so the business case has to survive a long period with no operational benefit.
  • The platform augments rather than replaces existing transaction monitoring, so you keep paying for the incumbent system alongside it and total compliance technology spend rises before it falls.
  • Skills are scarce; the platform needs people who understand both Spark scale data engineering and financial crime typologies, and those people are hard to recruit and easy to lose.

Answered, with sources

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Does Quantexa replace our transaction monitoring system?

No. It usually sits alongside it, adding network context to the alerts that system generates and to investigations.

Where does our data go?

Into your own cloud tenancy in the normal deployment model. Quantexa does not require you to send customer data to a shared multi-tenant service.

How is it priced?

Not publicly. Expect an annual subscription scaled by data volume and number of use cases, plus separate implementation cost.
