Document-based identity verification for regulated onboarding
As of 1 September 2026, Jumio's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. One of the older identity verification vendors, focused on document capture, liveness and AML screening for banks, gambling and travel. Softwr lists it under Cybersecurity. Jumio is made by Jumio Corporation, available on Web, iOS, Android.
Overview
Jumio verifies government issued identity documents, performs certified liveness detection and face comparison, screens against sanctions and PEP lists, and provides ongoing monitoring. The platform is sold as an end-to-end orchestration layer, meaning a single contract covers capture, decisioning and the third party data calls behind it. Jumio has been in this market since 2010 and has an enterprise installed base in financial services, gambling and sharing economy platforms. What distinguishes it commercially is certification and evidentiary depth rather than price. Jumio holds iBeta Level 1 and Level 2 presentation attack detection certification, publishes ISO and SOC 2 attestations, and offers deployment options with EU and other regional data residency. For a regulated buyer, those items are eligibility criteria, not preferences, and a cheaper vendor without them cannot be shortlisted regardless of accuracy. Buyers are compliance and risk teams at banks, gambling operators and marketplaces. The trade-off is cost and rigidity: pricing is quoted with annual volume commitments, so a business that overestimates growth pays for verifications it never used, and one that underestimates finds overage rates apply. Jumio also sits at the more expensive end of the category, which is precisely why the published Sumsub rate is useful leverage in a negotiation.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Jumio.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

No. Everything is quoted, normally as a per-verification rate against an annual committed volume with overage pricing above it.
Regional processing including EU data residency is offered. Confirm the specific region and retention period in the contract rather than assuming it.
Not by default. Screening and ongoing monitoring are priced separately from document verification.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Jumio, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
