Sumsub: Sumsub for global document-based verification with published pricing where no eID scheme exists

European digital identity hub connecting national eID schemes
As of 1 September 2026, Signicat's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A Norwegian identity platform whose real value is a single integration to dozens of European national eID and bank ID schemes, plus qualified electronic signatures. Softwr lists it under Cybersecurity. Signicat is available on Web, iOS, Android.
Overview
Signicat operates a digital identity hub that brokers connections to national and bank-operated electronic identity schemes across Europe, including BankID in Norway and Sweden, MitID in Denmark, iDIN in the Netherlands, itsme in Belgium and eIDAS notified schemes elsewhere. Alongside eID brokering it provides document-based verification, AML screening, electronic signatures and authentication. The distinguishing point is not technology but distribution. Each national eID scheme has its own contract, technical interface, certification and pricing, and connecting to eight of them directly is eight commercial relationships and eight integration projects. Signicat collapses that into one. For a bank or insurer expanding across Nordic and Benelux markets, that is the entire business case, and it is a case that no US identity vendor can make. Buyers are European banks, insurers, lenders and public sector bodies. The trade-off is dependency and cost stacking: the underlying scheme fees still exist and are passed through, so you pay the scheme rate plus Signicat's margin, and for a company operating in only one country a direct scheme integration is usually cheaper. Signicat was acquired by Nordic Capital in 2019 and its pricing is quoted rather than published.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Signicat.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Only where national eID exists. In markets with a mature bank ID scheme it is better; elsewhere you fall back to document checks, which Signicat also provides.
Yes. Scheme fees are passed through in addition to Signicat charges. Ask for the split when comparing to a direct integration.
Signicat supports eIDAS qualified electronic signatures, which carry the highest legal standing in the EU, as well as advanced signatures.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Signicat, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
