SAP S/4HANA: If product data governance can live in the ERP you already run rather than in a separate cloud PLM

PLM, quality and product information management built on the Salesforce platform
As of 31 August 2026, Propel's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Cloud PLM, QMS and PIM running natively on Salesforce, so engineering, quality and commercial teams share one record. Softwr lists it under Manufacturing. Propel is made by Propel Software Solutions, Inc., available on Web, iOS, Android, Cloud.
Overview
Propel is a product lifecycle management suite delivered as a native Salesforce application. It manages items, bills of materials, engineering change orders, documents and approvals, and extends into quality management with CAPA, non-conformance and audits, and into product information management for the marketing and commerce side of a product record. Because it is built on Salesforce, records, workflow, reporting and sharing rules use the same engine as the CRM, and a customer complaint can be traced to a part revision without an integration. The Salesforce foundation is the fact that decides the purchase. It buys you a configuration model that administrators already understand, a real API and reporting layer, and no separate identity or workflow engine to maintain. It also means your product data sits in a Salesforce org, your customisations are Salesforce customisations, and your negotiating position at renewal is with a vendor whose platform is not its own. Propel resolves the obvious objection by including Salesforce platform access in each Propel licence, so end users do not buy separate Salesforce seats. Buyers are mid-market and upper mid-market hardware, medical device and consumer product companies who want PLM without an on-premise programme. Propel publishes indicative bands on its own pricing page: roughly 10,000 to 150,000 US dollars a year for a small deployment with 10,000 to 25,000 of setup and about three weeks to go live, rising to 250,000 to 500,000 a year with 50,000 to 400,000 of setup and three to six months for a large one. Those bands are wide enough that the quote is still the only number that matters, but they are more than most PLM vendors disclose.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Propel.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

No. Each Propel licence includes Salesforce platform access, and end users do not need their own Salesforce licences or Salesforce expertise.
Practically, yes. The application, its configuration and your product data all sit in a Salesforce org, which is a real consideration at renewal.
Propel publishes indicative bands rather than list prices: roughly 10,000 to 150,000 US dollars a year for a small deployment and 250,000 to 500,000 for a large one, plus setup.
Yes, that is a core segment; the quality module covers CAPA, non-conformance, audits and training records with electronic signatures.
