Google Sheets: If your organisation is already inside the Google ecosystem for email and storage

Free standalone cloud spreadsheet from Zoho, also bundled into the low-cost Zoho Workplace suite
As of 1 September 2026, Zoho Sheet is free to use. A cloud spreadsheet that is free to use on its own, unlike Google Sheets it does not require paying for a separate personal storage account, and it is bundled into Zoho Workplace, which undercuts Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 on price for teams that want the suite version. Softwr lists it under Spreadsheets. Zoho Sheet is made by Zoho Corporation, available on Web, iOS, Android, Windows.
Overview
Zoho Sheet is a browser-based spreadsheet with formulas, pivot tables, macros through Deluge scripting, and real-time collaborative editing, reading and writing Excel files. It runs as part of the wider Zoho ecosystem and can pull data from other Zoho applications such as Zoho CRM and Zoho Analytics. The pricing structure has two layers. Zoho Sheet itself is free to use standalone with a Zoho account, with no forced upgrade to unlock core spreadsheet functionality. For organisations that want it bundled with email, docs, slides, meetings and chat, Zoho Workplace has a Forever Free plan for up to 5 users with 5GB, then paid tiers from around 1 US dollar a user a month for mail-only up to 6 US dollars a user a month for the Professional plan, which independent pricing trackers put at 50 to 70 percent cheaper than equivalent Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 plans. Buyers are individuals who want a genuinely free spreadsheet without a Google or Microsoft account, and small to mid-sized businesses price-sensitive enough to choose Zoho Workplace over Google Workspace for the same seat count. The trade-off is a smaller add-on and integration ecosystem than Google Sheets or Excel, and collaborators outside a company who are not used to the Zoho interface face a small learning curve compared with the near-universal familiarity of Google Sheets or Excel.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Zoho Sheet.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Zoho Sheet, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish.
