What Coefficient does
Coefficient installs as an add on for Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel and pulls live data from sources including Salesforce, HubSpot, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Postgres, NetSuite and Shopify into a sheet, refreshing on a schedule and, for supported systems, writing edits back to the source. It also provides alerting into Slack or email when values in a sheet cross a threshold, and snapshot capabilities for point in time reporting. What distinguishes it from the spreadsheet database category is that it does not try to replace the spreadsheet or the database. The recurring cost it removes is the manual export, the stale copy circulating by email, and the analyst who rebuilds the same pivot every Monday. Because it targets the tool finance and revenue operations teams already use, adoption does not require anyone to change how they work, which is the usual reason spreadsheet replacement projects fail. The buyers are revenue operations, finance and sales operations teams inside companies that already run Salesforce and a warehouse. The trade offs are structural. A Google Sheets spreadsheet is capped at ten million cells, so a wide table runs out of room in the low hundreds of thousands of rows regardless of what the warehouse holds; and pushing data back into a system of record from a spreadsheet is exactly the workflow most data governance teams are trying to stop.
